Systems Engineering concentrates on the precise specification of system structure and behaviours in order to satisfy customer requirements. The role of the Systems Project Engineer encompasses the complete product design and development life cycle including, system concept development, design, build, qualification, certification, and in-service support. In addition to being a key customer contact, the Systems Project Engineer may be required to lead global Honeywell resources and external suppliers to define and align product designs with customer’s system requirements.
The Role
· The Systems Project Engineer will be responsible to the Yeovil Systems Engineering Manager.
· The Systems Project Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the compliance of the system and its products to the customer requirement documentation. Experience in the use of DOORS / DOORS NG as a requirement’s capture software would be useful.
· The role includes responsibility for the complete ECS system life cycle: systems requirements capture and management, systems design, support to systems modelling and performance testing. Interpretation of system test results and problem-solving skills are required.
· Responsibility for defining the system level requirements includes requirements allocation to electronic controls and component level requirements
· Reporting of system design / development status to internal and external customers.
· The Systems Project Engineer will liaise closely with programme management, design and development engineers, manufacturing and customers as and when necessary.
· The Systems Project Engineer will be expected to work both independently and within a cross-functional team environment. Support is available from areas of expertise and experience when required.
Qualifications & Experience
· An engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or Systems Engineering is required. Knowledge of thermodynamic and fluid dynamic theory and practice would be useful. Specific experience of working with air management systems would be useful. However, other relevant systems experience would also be taken into account and assessed on merit.
· An additional knowledge or experience of ‘Vapour Cycle System’ (VCS) technology and product design would be useful.
· A good grounding and experience of engineering practices, design and practical applications would be useful.

Our education provider for this role is Weston College, where you will be provided with courses to achieve a Level 6 Apprenticeship Standard in Project Management, this is degree level.
When not at college, you will gain hands on experience with us.
You will have a buddy assigned to you, our apprentice in year 3, and work closely within our friendly and experienced team to gain hands-on experience in the following:
Supporting multiple stakeholders with the delivery of repair parts for military aircraft
Creation and maintenance of project schedules
Use appropriate planning techniques to help identify project resource requirements and manage availability with functional managers
Support the development & maintenance monitoring & control of project deliverables
Key skills and qualifications:
Have 3 A levels or equivalent qualifications at grade C or above

The annual base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $140,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. ·Analyze pressure relief scenarios and review PRV relief loads across various equipment configurations and systems in support of process technology teams
·Investigate and document the causes and conditions of potential overpressure events
·Ensure PRV project specifications align with UOP standards and applicable industry requirements
·Respond to customer inquiries, clarify UOP practices, and evaluate requests for deviations
·Maintain and improve PRV infrastructure tools and documentation; develop analysis procedures and coordinate tool testing and updates
·Deliver training sessions to internal teams and external customers on pressure relief system design and best practices
·Provide technical support to UOP Services for pressure relief system issues in both new and operating units
·Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
·7+ years of industry experience in areas such as pressure relief design, process safety, flare systems, or work within oil & gas, petrochemical, or refining industries, including familiarity with ASME and API standards.
·Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering
·Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and mentor others
·Chemical Engineering degree
·Ability to analyze and solve complex and challenging problems
·Effectively operate in a matrix organization
·Experience working in global teams across time zones
·Track record of successful contribution to products & projects
·Experience with pressure relief devices and systems, and process safety practice
·Broad understanding of applicable industry codes and best practices
·Process experience in refinery, oil, gas, and petrochemical industries
·Effective presentation skills
