The Analog Mixed Signal IC Design Engineer in the tech industry is an important cog in the Google machine. This role is responsible for designing and implementing integrated circuits for new products as well as enhancing existing products.
The Analog Mixed Signal IC Design Engineer has a clear understanding of analog and digital circuit design. They are trained to bring a product from concept to design including electronic circuit design, layout, prototype verification, and validation. Some of the areas the Analog Mixed Signal IC Design Engineer focuses on are application specific integrated circuits (ASICs), programmable logic, voltage containment ICs, high speed data converters, GHz power amplifiers, and noise sensitive analog filters.
The engineer will also be required to have a good working knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals such as Ohm’s Law, Kirchhoff’s Law, Joule’s Law, and basic circuit analysis techniques. They must stay up-to-date on all existing IC process technology trends in the market.
The Analog Mixed Signal IC Design Engineer also needs to possess strong design and communication skills. They must be able to explain technical concepts clearly to cross-functional teams and other departments. In collaboration with the hardware team, they must develop efficient and cost-effective solutions that are in line with Google’s projects.
