Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects to design and develop automation systems to enhance manufacturing productivity, new product introduction and capacity.
  • Own the controls architecture and software for PLC, Robotics, and Vision Systems.
  • Lead Design Transfer of NPIs by collaborating with manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, and product engineering teams.
  • Identify high Return on Investment opportunities, design and conduct feasibility studies, and develop business cases to deploy automation into production.
  • Apply creative solutions and ideas to drive productivity and quality using LEAN methodology, novel fixturing, collaborative robots, AI, traditional automation techniques, and integration of PLCs, HMIs, and motion systems.
  • Support Brilliant Factory initiatives by connecting physical processes with digital information.
  • Create standard automation Equipment/User Requirement Specifications to drive component standardization, data standards, and safety risk assessments.
  • Manage projects and lead project teams in a matrix organization.
  • Leverage and manage outside suppliers to deliver automation solutions.
  • Troubleshoot factory equipment controls, update/debug control software and support factory equipment as needed.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical degree.
  • 3+ years’ experience in factory automation, deploying various automation technologies from concept phase through final implementation into production.
  • Demonstrated skills in PLC and HMI programming, trouble shooting and debug
  • Experience in program or project management skills of internal/external integrators.
  • Experience developing technical documents, including the ability to write/perform FMEA’s, Equipment Risk Assessments, ERS’s (Equipment Requirements Specifications), and Validation Plans.
  • Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CREO.

Desirable:

  • 5+ years’ experience in the design, build, programming, and deployment of automation.
  • Experience with Fanuc Robot Programming and Python code development.
  • Experience with controls automation design and safety standards; NFPA 79, RIA15.06, and other relevant industry standards.
  • Substantial industrial experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Six-sigma DMAIC & DFSS certified.
  • Solid working knowledge of Medical Device QMS procedures.

Procurement Engineering Leader is focused on the successful launch of new products- Coil within our MR modality. The NPI Sourcing professional is responsible for providing a supply base that provides a competitive advantage for GE Healthcare in order to support the on time and to budget delivery of NPI projects. This is a hybrid role, residing in Aurora Cleveland (OH01-01-Cleveland-Aurora Coils)
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Sourcing professional focus on provide value to product development through leveraging supplier capabilities and technologies during product design.

  • Select strategic suppliers for new products and prepare suppliers to deliver targeted requirements such as quality, fulfillment and cost

  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, the supplier management team, supply chain team and others across the business to achieve results

  • Lead sourcing initiatives early in the product development phase keeping in line with our product simplification and platforming goals

  • Meet cost targets

  • Ensure technology matches occur between supply partners, engineering and manufacturing so that product and factory fulfillment requirements are met

  • Be highly engaged in technical design reviews, considering supplier expertise and innovation in component design and specifications

  • De-risk supplier base by identifying the risk and executing mitigation plans, in partnership with business leaders

  • Ensure NPI teams utilize preferred suppliers as identified in Global Healthcare sourcing strategies.

  • Understand and convey the technical needs of MR Engineering to Global Sourcing personnel during category strategy development.

  • Development and deployment of MR’s first Early Supplier Involvement (ESI) program

  • Supporting our Supplier Quality Program, ensuring supplier compliance with FDA, EHS, transportation and other regulatory and reputation requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum 5 years Sourcing (Procurement), Engineering or Supply Chain Management Experience

Desired Qualifications:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Collaborate with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing organizations to help resolve scrap, yield, and fulfillment issues

Required Qualifications

  • Ensure successful day-to-day operations aligned to Coils strategy and support safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) metrics are tracking to target and issues are addressed cross-functionally with speed and urgency, driving to root cause resolution
  • Develop and drive cross-functional strategic initiatives (both equipment and service) to transform coils SQDC outcomes for the MR business through supply chain, production, product quality, and service initiatives
  • Accountable owner of coils customer complaints and field actions
  • Drive coils product quality improvement, leveraging reliability metrics that lower field failure rates and service returns while improving end customer satisfaction
  • Partner with service to optimize business and customer metrics/outcomes
  • Manage and direct coils cost reduction (variable cost productivity initiatives) and total landed costs
  • Lead Aurora full site cultural connections, employee engagement, communications, facilities, etc. including engineering, sourcing, EHS, manufacturing, quality, fulfillment, Lean, etc.
  • Attract and retain key talent while creating an environment that fosters employee engagement, diversity, professional development, and improved employee satisfaction

Qualifications/Requirements
