Key Responsibilities:

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Medical Imaging and Clinical Applications : In-depth understanding of medical imaging techniques and their clinical applications. Even better if experiences CT imaging.
• AI and Deep Learning : Understanding AI and DL technologies in medical imaging.
• Image quality assessments/Applications Development : Image quality assessment tools/Applications development experiences, with a focus on medical devices.
• Quality and Regulatory Compliance : Familiarity with Quality Management Systems, Risk Management, and Regulatory compliance requirements.
• Effective Communication Skills : Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely with business-level English communication.

Additionally, the CT Systems Development Engineer will ensure the quality of installed products, investigate system issues with the field service team, and provide technical solutions and support to regional teams. This role also requires knowledge of Quality Management Systems, Risk Management, and Regulatory compliance.

As a CT System Development Engineer, you will become a member of the innovative technical team that drives these advances into the industry. You will report directly to the CT Systems Manager.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

• Working with cross-functional engineers, the marketing team, the product definition team, and the global team to define system requirements for new products and technology roadmaps.
• Collaborating across functions and team boundaries to define, design, and implement technology solutions for new product introductions.
• Utilizing broad technical expertise and experience to help resolve complex design issues with current products.
• Providing domain expertise to lead technical design reviews, investigate technical risks, and offer innovative solutions to achieve optimal system performance.

Qualifications / Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science, Software, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 3+ years of experience in systems design engineering or similar, preferably in medical imaging or a related industry.
• Scripting language coding experience with Python, MATLAB, etc.
• Effective communication skills – ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.
• Demonstrated ability to complete tasks.
• Proven problem-solving ability and results orientation.
• Business-level Japanese and English communication skills to drive local and global development work.
• Must be legally authorized to work full-time in Japan.

Desired Characteristics (but not limit to)

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Medical Physics, or a closely related field.
• Experience in the development/research of medical imaging devices.
• Experience in CT product or major component development, particularly in image reconstruction and radiation dose areas.
• Proven record of innovation in technology development.
• Proficient in software coding and/or the use of software tools for analysis and simulation.

The CT Systems Safety Regulatory Engineer will be responsible for product risk assessments, safety incident investigations, and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, such as FDA, MDR, and ISO. They will collaborate with systems and sub-system teams. In this internship role, you will understand CT products and their system-level functionalities, learn the Safety Regulatory Engineer’s role and responsibilities, and gain job experience.
