Collection, interpretation and reporting of market research
Impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives. Subject to Commercial policy objectives. Has independence in achieving commercial objectives within operating budgets and operating guidelines. There is moderate autonomy within the role to enter into/execute Commercial arrangements. High levels of Commercial judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.


1. Market and Competitor Intelligence

  • Be responsible for China market monitoring, including tracking industry policies, competitor moves, new technology trends, major NPIs, mergers & acquisitions and other strategy investment/divesture.
  • Publish China Weekly Newsletter.
  • Collect and analyze GEHC peers’ quarterly earning’s calls.
  • Perform ad hoc competitor deep dives in collaboration with Strategy and/or Finance teams.

2. Market Data and Report

  • Assess, select and manage third party providers on China market data and intelligence, such as Public Tender database, Gov’t Special Funds for Healthcare Industry, China Market Performance Report, etc.
  • Collaborate with GEHC Data expert / IT to digitize, visualize such third-party data, and connect with other inhouse platforms when needed.
  • Train and educate internal users to best utilize these data and reports for GEHC biz purpose

3. Market Forecast

  • Lead quarterly China market forecast exercise and supervise external consultant’s work
  • Be responsible for China key stakeholder alignment and global interlock.
  • Continuously review forecasting methodologies and processes, applying industry best practices to enhance forecasting capabilities and improve China forecast accuracy to meet global standard.

4. Research & Insights:

  • Gather China business needs, coordinate market research projects, including 3rd party surveys, focus groups, competitive benchmark, and other topic-specific studies.
  • Ensure cost effective yet high-quality output that supports China region business decision making.
  • Serve as a PMO for these projects, ensuring confidentiality, data security, and full compliance.

5. Strategic Insights & Management Support:

  • Provide on-going support to China Leadership Team with market and competitive intelligence and insights
  • Foster collaboration within the department and across BUs and functions.
  • Ensure data integrity, maintain high standard on quality of work, transparency and traceability.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor or above Degree in top universities, prefer Healthcare or business-related majors; MBA, PhD, MD is a plus 8+ year work experience, in either:

2. Demonstrated research and analytic skills, communication skills, detail oriented, and quantitative skills.

3. Proven leadership experience in small size team management and cross-functional projects management.

Daily consultation, risk identification and mitigation:

  • Act as the Compliance business partner of the Business Unit, drive proactive compliance leadership and engagement to ensure that business colleagues are responsible for compliance with policies, processes, controls and other initiatives.
  • Embedding Compliance into business by joining business meetings to understand business challenges, advice business team for daily consultation, proactively identify risks, and work together with business team and Compliance team for practicable solutions and mitigation measures if needed.
  • Develop metrics and dashboards in coordination with global and China Compliance team to provide leadership with appropriate indicators of compliance health.
  • Review and improve current internal process to ensure compliance risks are properly identified and mitigated, at the same time, the internal process is simple and helpful.
  • Together with China CCO and business leadership, support the regional Compliance Review Board (“CRB”) to drive real-time and relevant discussions of compliance topics, risks, mitigations and program efforts, and ensure any sub-regional/zone CRBs are held with appropriate cadence.
  • Coordinate with global compliance leadership to implement business risk assessment initiatives and drive mitigation plans arising therefrom, including reviewing and addressing remote site risks by creating awareness through employee engagement efforts, monitoring concerns and assessing operations at these sites.

Compliance culture, policy, communication and training:

  • Support business leadership in driving the open reporting program and conducting risk roll-up discussions with employees to drive the compliance culture.
  • Lead or support the training to the business on GE’s Spirit & Letter and other global, regional and business policies and procedures.
  • Together with global compliance team, develop relevant and timely compliance communications and trainings to embed the program in day-to-day activities.
  • Support global compliance team to launch policies and ensure local policies are consistent with global policies.

Enforcement, monitoring and mitigation:

  • Monitor internal and external compliance trends, including compliance initiatives, industry compliance failures and applicable, industry specific regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with IMT team to support GE Healthcare’s open reporting system, assisting with investigations as required, and ensuring appropriate remediation actions are taken.
  • Coordinate with the global compliance team and relevant business owners to support regular monitoring and audits of compliance areas and support driving requisite improvements/resolutions for issues identified, including identification of trends and conducting root cause analysis of issues.
  • Identify and resolve compliance-related procedural issues and areas of improvement, and ensure remediation actions plans are established, implemented and tracked through to closure.

Other priorities:

  • Coordinate with global compliance leaders and other region compliance leads to roll-out and implement compliance priorities.
  • Any other responsibilities that may be identified by the China CCO or business from time-to-time.

Basic Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A minimum of 12 years professional experience in compliance, risk mitigation, investigations, audit, operational and/or other relevant assurance areas, preferably with a multi-national life sciences or healthcare company.
  • Knowledge of and experience with compliance issues, such as: anti-corruption/Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, third party compliance, anti-money laundering, controllership, conflict of interest, dealer management and supplier relationships.
  • Expertise in working with local medical device or pharmaceutical industry codes.
  • Strong business acumen, ability to detect emerging compliance and industry trends and develop appropriate responses.
  • Track record of strong project management capability.

Description:
Collection, interpretation and reporting of market research
Impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives. Subject to Commercial policy objectives. Has independence in achieving commercial objectives within operating budgets and operating guidelines. There is moderate autonomy within the role to enter into/execute Commercial arrangements. High levels of Commercial judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.


1. Market and Competitor Intelligence

  • Be responsible for China market monitoring, including tracking industry policies, competitor moves, new technology trends, major NPIs, mergers & acquisitions and other strategy investment/divesture.
  • Publish China Weekly Newsletter.
  • Collect and analyze GEHC peers’ quarterly earning’s calls.
  • Perform ad hoc competitor deep dives in collaboration with Strategy and/or Finance teams.

2. Market Data and Report

  • Assess, select and manage third party providers on China market data and intelligence, such as Public Tender database, Gov’t Special Funds for Healthcare Industry, China Market Performance Report, etc.
  • Collaborate with GEHC Data expert / IT to digitize, visualize such third-party data, and connect with other inhouse platforms when needed.
  • Train and educate internal users to best utilize these data and reports for GEHC biz purpose

3. Market Forecast

  • Lead quarterly China market forecast exercise and supervise external consultant’s work
  • Be responsible for China key stakeholder alignment and global interlock.
  • Continuously review forecasting methodologies and processes, applying industry best practices to enhance forecasting capabilities and improve China forecast accuracy to meet global standard.

4. Research & Insights:

  • Gather China business needs, coordinate market research projects, including 3rd party surveys, focus groups, competitive benchmark, and other topic-specific studies.
  • Ensure cost effective yet high-quality output that supports China region business decision making.
  • Serve as a PMO for these projects, ensuring confidentiality, data security, and full compliance.

5. Strategic Insights & Management Support:

  • Provide on-going support to China Leadership Team with market and competitive intelligence and insights
  • Foster collaboration within the department and across BUs and functions.
  • Ensure data integrity, maintain high standard on quality of work, transparency and traceability.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor or above Degree in top universities, prefer Healthcare or business-related majors; MBA, PhD, MD is a plus 8+ year work experience, in either:

2. Demonstrated research and analytic skills, communication skills, detail oriented, and quantitative skills.

3. Proven leadership experience in small size team management and cross-functional projects management.

4. Outstanding in English and Chinese, including oral communication, written and presentation skills.
