Manage the procurement of Ford Owned Shipping responsible for taking production parts from tier 1 suppliers to our assembly plants.

As a Engine Components Buyer, you will be responsible for critical components such as Composite Intake Manifolds, Oil Pans, and Engine Covers, sealant systems, plastic metal components etc. across various programs. Your expertise will drive the strategic direction, sourcing execution, and productivity initiatives (Total Value Management - TVM), ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality plastic parts to Ford Engine and Transmission Plants. This role demands a proactive approach to supplier relationship management and a keen eye for market trends, working collaboratively with Product Development (PD), Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), and Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) to achieve aggressive Year-over-Year (YoY) cost, quality, and on-time delivery (OTD) targets.

In this position...

• Establish/strengthen global supplier relationships, enabling Ford to better align with and influence supplier technology roadmaps for Timing System, VCT and Solenoids.
• Understand upcoming program sourcing and key milestone in support of launch.
• Lead process to source on time and satisfy program targets, including working closely with PD to develop forward model cost targets.
• Drive/ lead Best Cost at J1, both through initial sourcing and design changes • Lead design competitions and market tests.
• Provide feedback to valued supply partners on cost position relative to market to build effective long-term, productive relationships.
• Support future Program Workshops - identify opportunities to achieve vehicle competitive pricing.
• Manage Supplier emerging significant issues (supply issues, Quality, Cost, etc.) and drive internal risk mitigation.
• Co-lead and develop together with PD commodity strategies, along with deployment of strategy for ICE to BEV migration.

As the Buyer, you will have a direct purchasing position for the FCSD purchasing organization. In this role, you will lead commercial negotiations, support critical supply issues, and manage material cost for the suppliers assigned. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process and cost improvements, support supplier management strategies, and ensure compliance to our standards.
