The Ford Exterior Lighting Electronics & Software Engineer role interfaces with a variety of engineering fields including mechanical, electrical, software, and optics. This position involves responsibilities including definition of requirements, electronics design, software development, tooling, validation testing, and launching in an assembly plant during the development of Exterior Lighting products throughout a vehicle’s lifecycle. This role requires an engineer to lead and drive a cross functional team that includes lighting suppliers, electronics suppliers, optics, software developers, studio, purchasing, manufacturing, and quality functions. As a key architect and implementer, you will assume comprehensive ownership of our modeling tool ecosystem. This entails the end-to-end development, maintenance, and enhancement of custom MagicDraw/Cameo Systems Modeler plugins. You will also be instrumental in establishing sophisticated data retrieval mechanisms from the Teamwork Cloud Server, enabling the display of granular insights through dedicated data analytics dashboards. Moreover, you will devise and execute strategies for integrating with enterprise data platforms and explore the innovative application of AI/ML techniques to elevate our modeling intelligence and efficiency.

You'll work across the entire software stack, contributing to both our back-end services built with Java and Spring Boot, and our modern front-end user interfaces using either React or Angular. You will also play a key part in our DevOps practices, leveraging Tekton pipelines (and potentially Jenkins) for continuous integration and deployment, and utilizing your knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and OpenShift for deploying, managing, and monitoring our applications in the cloud. You will contribute to architectural discussions and technology choices, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.

Design and release dynamic sealing systems that meet or exceed cost, quality, weight and delivery targets, concurrent engineering and thorough knowledge in DFMEA, DFM, DVP&R, CAE/FEA analytical tools, SCCAF, SC/CC, 8D, root cause analysis, product development and testing (seal gap analysis, door closing effort contribution analysis, wind noise, dust ingress and water management), familiar with gages, fixtures, tooling, TGW reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Global Data Insight & Analytics organization is seeking ato lead and advance our internal Data Science and AI/ML strategy. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic, cross-functional team, collaborating closely and consistently with other engineers, business partners, product managers, and designers. You will be involved in frequent and iterative releases. Your focus will be on backend software engineering, specifically in developing machine learning and generative AI applications on Google Cloud, as well as creating reusable AI/ML components.

What you'll do...

• Work closely with Tech Anchor, Product Manager and Product Owner to deliver Gen AI solution in GCP using Python and other tools for business across the company.
• Work with software and ML engineers/Data Scientist to tackle challenging AIOps and Gen AI problems.
• Develop and manage current CI/CD ecosystem and tools
• Find ways to automate and continually improve current CI/CD processes and release processes
• Help innovate standardize machine learning development practices.
• Experiment, innovate and share knowledge with the team.
• Lead by example in use of Paired Programming for cross training/upskilling, problem solving, and speed to delivery.
• Work with other software engineers to cooperatively deliver user stories, as well as solve highly complex technical software problems using industry best practices

You'll have...

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering or similar technical discipline.
• 3+ years of work experience as a backend software engineer in Python with exceptional software engineering knowledge.
• 3+ years of experience with Cloud Engineering / Services
• Experience in MLOPs and Gen AI – LLM, Development experience with building RAG and Multi Agent Applications
• Experience with ML workflow orchestration tools: Airflow
• Advanced working knowledge of object-oriented/object function programming languages: Python, C/C++
• Experience in DevOps: Jenkins/Tekton etc.
• Experience with cloud services, preferably GCP Services like Vertex AI, Cloud Function, BigQuery etc.
• Experience in container management solution: Kubernetes, Docker
• Experience in scripting language: Bash, PowerShell etc.
• Experience with Infrastructure as code: Terraform etc

• Master focused in Computer Science / Machine Learning or related field
• Experience working with Google Cloud platform(GCP) – specifically Google Kubernetes engine, Terraform, and infrastructure
• Experience in programming concepts such as Paired Programming, Test Driven Development, etc.
