What a typical day looks like:

  • Develop and manage production forecast based on master plan, timelines, material needs in order to define production requirements based on plant capacity, which are aligned with company goals.
  • Adjust plans as necessary to accommodate changes in demand, communicating updates to all relevant parties and ensure material supplies able to meet the changes
  • Produces revenue investigation and annual operating (AOP) plan and other forecast reports.
  • Conducts special studies, investigations relating to the introduction of new products or processes to effect cost reduction and gives in improvements.
  • Reporting on the production status and any production issues to upper management
  • Liaise with operation team to resolved daily production line disruption and productivity issues.
  • In charge of the development and implementation of the company’s production control functions including Master Scheduling, ProductionPlanning/Coordination,Shop Scheduling, and Dispatching.
  • Develops material planning models to ensure proper material planning and optimal inventory positions for customer programs. Utilizes models for defining material planning parameters for components.
  • Approves quantities, schedules and parts list provided to the material control organization to ensure timely and complete ordering, receipt and issuance of production material requirements.
  • Maintains reports to reflect scheduling, methods, hold up performance and process procedures.
  • Interfaces with customers to ensure delivery dedications are met and with subordinates, functional peer group managers and senior management.
  • Interfaces with purchasing to expedite problem parts and to reschedule material deliveries that will result in excess inventory.
  • Notifies Materials and Program Management of material situation that affect the attainment of the production plan.
  • Travel as necessary.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Typically requires 10+ years of progressive responsibility in production control and planning or related area, including supervision.
  • Demonstrates mastery of functional knowledge in relation to other functions and a complete understanding of the function and those of related businesses.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professionals journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • An America Production Inventory Control Society (APICS) and/or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certificate is preferred.
  • Erroneous decisions will result in critical delay(s) in schedules and/or unit operations and may jeopardize overall business activities and have serious impact on profitability. Impacts the medium-term (semi-annual/annual) direction and financial or operational success of the function. Creates functional processes or technologies. Executes and provides input to functional strategic plans and objectives for site. Has experience in leading major initiatives and provides input to those initiatives.
  • Defines/ determines and approves functional methods, standards, policies and procedures. Decisions affect the region and/or company-wide.
  • Provides strategic leadership for the function and the site. Demonstrates experience in performance development, teaching/leading, and mentoring and/or organization development.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Oversees the work of assigned team employees.

  • Assists with the planning and preparation of training for new team members.
  • Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members skills and experience.
  • Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments
  • Partners with supervisor or engineering manager to resolve any issues that arise within department.
  • Monitors testing status daily; gathers feedback from all test technicians.
  • Follow AC/DC schematics and wiring diagrams to perform testing of main electrical distribution AC/DC systems for power distribution control houses and panels.
  • Work closely with engineering and production team members to ensure accurate, efficient and timely execution of required testing work
  • Be able to troubleshoot assembly, wiring and testing problems
  • Performs full functional testing on various circuits including HVAC system, lighting, receptacles, fans, fire alarm systems, battery system, and meggering of cables.
  • Perform complete testing including current/voltage injections, Hi-Potential Testing, I/O checks and circuit breaker simulation testing on Relay Panels and Switchgear.
  • Perform Factory Acceptance Testing with customer as required.
  • Perform customer site visits to troubleshoot and resolve any field issues that may arise.
  • Drafts detailed technical reports to present findings; based on findings, recommends modifications needed to correct production problems
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in electrical engineering or related field required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • At least 4 years of experience in power distribution electrical testing or related field
  • Relevant experience leading a team.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and single line diagrams.
  • Knowledge in testing of three phase AC and DC control circuits.
  • Knowledge in testing protection relays and switchgear.
  • Knowledge of power distribution, breakers, current and potential transformers, protection relays, and switchgear.
  • Familiar with protection relay software such as Schweitzer, AcSELerator and GE Enervista UR.
  • Good working knowledge of standard electrical testing and measuring equipment
  • Knowledge of Electrical Safety Procedures and NEC Codes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to discuss product flaws in a constructive and positive manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare test reports and proposals.

What the physical requirements are:

  • Periods of standing, walking, and sitting at a desk using a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time
  • Must be able to traverse production facility to complete testing
  • Ability to travel to customer sites when necessary.

  • Monitors equipment performance and makes minor adjustments such as set-ups, calibrations and alignments.
  • Clears minor machine difficulties and performs maintenance and repairs under supervision of technician, engineer or supervisor.
  • Assists operators by answering questions and demonstrating operations.
  • Performs spot checks on product to ensure quality levels are maintained.
  • Stays current working with manufacturing support on process and equipment changes and upgrades.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • 2-4 years’ experience in similar position
  • Minimum 1 year machine troubleshooting experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with assembly requirements
  • Good communication and documentation skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Medical device experience preferred.

Ability to collect data, establish facts, interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, and draw valid conclusions.

Work Environment:
