Responsibilities:

  • Consults with all departments on design and use of equipment, fire prevention and safety programs.

  • Examines plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to define if all safety precautions have been included.

  • Tours plant to inspect fire and safety equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

  • Define requirements for safety clothing and devices, and designs, builds, and installs or directs installation of safety devices on machinery.

  • Conducts or coordinates safety training to educate workers about emergency acknowledge, safety policies, laws and practices.

  • Investigates industrial accidents to minimize recurrence and prepares accident reports.

  • Conducts air quality tests for presence of harmful gases and vapors.

  • In charge of identifying health and safety hazards and recommending corrective actions.

  • Serves as internal consultant to business units on ergonomics, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene and fire and chemical safety matters.

  • Audits business units.

  • Interfaces with outside vendors, contractors and engineers regarding facilities, chemicals and other workplace health and safety related matters.

  • Compiles and submits safety reports.

  • Administers workers compensation, OSHA 2000 log and return to work program.

QualificationsTypically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environment or Health Sciences or equivalent experience in EH&S and knowledge of related regulations, codes, and guidelines.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Typically requires a minimum of 7+ years of experience in EH&S or related position.

  • Managing people / Direct reports experience preferred.

Job Summary

Reporting to the, theinvolves being responsible for a variety of complex operations and duties in a production area.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Develops, maintains and improves assembly processes within area of responsibility.
  • Evaluates process specifications periodically to decide if the specifications accurately reflect the process requirements and reviews process steps and reduces inefficiencies.
  • Drives production schedules and process related problems to closure.
  • Assists in the compliance of safety regulations, i.e. ISO and business controls.
  • Provides production ready documentation (MPIs) with equipment setup and programs.
  • Supports team in making process and efficiency improvements.
  • Handles first calls in non-maintenance down issues and provides assistance to manufacturing support with implementing changes.
  • Monitors equipment performance and makes minor adjustments such as set-ups, calibrations and alignments.
  • Clears minor machine difficulties and performs maintenance and repairs under supervision of technician, engineer or supervisor.
  • Assists operators by answering questions and demonstrating operations.
  • Performs spot checks on product to ensure quality levels are maintained.
  • Stays current working with manufacturing support on process and equipment changes and upgrades.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • 2-4 years’ experience in similar position
  • Minimum 1 year machine troubleshooting experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with assembly requirements
  • Good communication and documentation skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Medical device experience preferred.

  • Aligns, repairs, replaces, and balances component parts and circuitry.
  • Assists engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment.

  • May oversee cafeteria and/or food service operations.
  • Analyses and standardizes various facilities procedures to improve efficiencies.
  • Defines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Assigns duties for subordinates and examines work for conformance to policies and procedures.
  • A portion of time is normally spent performing tasks related to the facilities unit.
  • Coordinates purchase orders within budget guidelines and files monthly reports to accounting, corporate, and/or facilities management

  • Evaluates firm's HVAC systems, computer network wiring, lighting and other factors.
  • Plans, budgets and schedules various regional facilities modifications including cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts and contracts for construction and acquisitions.
  • Performs audits to support facility planning.
  • Develops long range plans, conceptual designs and capital outlay requirements and documentation for various facilities.
  • Formulates and coordinates program specifications, requirements for proposals and contracts and associated documents.
  • Acts as liaison to public utility, environmental and energy agencies.
  • Inspects construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.
  • Reviews real estate contracts for compliance with government specifications and suitability for occupancy.
  • Oversees the coordination of building space allocation, layout and communication services.
  • Oversees and directs maintenance personnel and workers engaged in facility equipment installation, facilities equipment repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Oversees development and updating of the Disaster Recovery Plan and ensures site readiness.
  • Oversees facilities safety and training programs, first aid and First Responder program, Hazmat, Lock-out/Tag-out, chemical handling safety, MSDS data sheets, compliance to OSHA regulations.
  • Oversees contracted cleaning services.
  • Completes corporate, governmental and site reporting.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, related degree or equivalent experience and training.
  • requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities engineering or related field, including supervision.
  • Prefer some knowledge of manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrates mastery of expertise in multiple areas and industry.

  • Design process and equipment floor layouts per specific customer and site initiatives, using engineering principles to optimize product, information, and people flows. Coordinate with engineering teams and SMEs to develop specifications for utility distribution, assess current capacities and produce CAD documentation for required modifications.
  • Interface with electrical, mechanical, and architectural trades to create project budgets and timelines for facility transformation projects; establish priorities for key support contractors, balancing daily workload with major project deliverables. Provide engineering evaluation for change orders during construction and installation phases. Execute based on commitments to our customers, maintaining quality and efficiency of facility resources.
  • Maintain site reference CAD materials that support operations, human resources, fire life & safety, etc. Update manufacturing as-built equipment layouts and become SME for utilization and capabilities across all areas. Support daily site operations through ownership of the facility work request system, assigning resources and arranging material purchases as needed.
  • Support facility maintenance operations & engineering teams through critical site infrastructure initiatives. The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
