Reporting to thetheis responsible for effectively managing all strategic operational processes and resources and managing an organization in order to achieve and maintain operational excellence.


What a typical day looks like:

  • Supervises production staff on work method and quality checkpoints.
  • Coordinates efforts of operations team by establishing procurement, production and engineering services policies and practices.
  • Ensures ISO and safety standards are adhered.
  • Leverages industry practices and applies to internal systems and processes.
  • Provides supervision and direction to subordinate staff and coordinates workflow within major work unit, including distributing work, disseminating information, assigning staff to cover for absences, providing technical assistance, answering questions, and resolving problems within the work unit supervised.
  • Supervises the development and implementation of training programs within the work unit supervised.
  • Serves as a liaison between the work unit and other offices and outside agencies for the distribution and collection of information and to resolve operational issues.
  • Develops and implements new procedures and responds to changes in statutes and administrative policies.
  • Trains staff in the use of automated systems and word processing software, introduces new versions or functions, trouble shoots problems, and attends meetings.
  • Assists in the preparation of the budget for the work unit.
  • Performs reviewing work performance, motivating subordinates to work more effectively, identifying problems with performance and solutions to those problems, defining training needs to improve performance,
  • Participates in the hiring and promoting of staff within the work unit supervised, including serving on a panel to interview applicants and making recommendations to superiors.
  • Prepares and/or processes personnel actions such as promotions, appointments, transfers, leaves of absences.
  • Supervises the maintenance of personnel records and time sheets for staff supervised.
  • Coordinates time off requests to ensure adequate coverage.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in addition to 6 years of operations experience.
  • Demonstrates expertise in complex functional/technical area or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas; Demonstrates advanced people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of multiple functionaltechnologies/processes,industries or functions and understanding of interdependencies of such processes at the site. To perform the major job responsibilities the use of the following tools may be required: Office Skills: telephones, word processing, spreadsheet (PC), presentation and database software.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to define and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to collect data, establish facts, interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Impacts the near and medium-term(quarterly/semi-annual)operational success of the function. Participates in creating functional processes or technologies. Provides input to functional strategic plans and objectives for site.
  • Facilitates team in making group decisions. Approves and/or Makes decisions forsections/sub-functions.Decisions may affectsections/sub-functions.
  • Demonstrates experience in performance development, teaching/leading, mentoring and/or organization development. Instills appropriate behavior in others in support of Flex values.

· Publish communications and updates through the established structure and network as necessary.

· Update area Training Boards on a weekly basis with pertinent information (Weekly Trainer schedules, updates, etc).

· Ability to manage projects and work in a cross functional team.

· Follows all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by the department.
