  • In charge of developing, applying, revising and maintaining quality standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.

  • Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement and research of equipment and facilities.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Supplier Selection---Select the suitable supplier with jointed-effort of sourcing on aspects of quality, capability, pricing, delivery, environment, society regulation, etc. against customer requirements.
  • SupplierQualification---Implementthe new supplier qualification thru the process of capability matching, supplier risk assessment, supplier self-assessment, onsite qualification audit, qualification database management.
  • VEA (Value-Added Engineering Activity) ---Understand customer drawing, specification to feedback value-added engineering proposal to customer and supplier for optimization of supplier manufacturing process or products.
  • Material (Component)Qualification---ImplementPPAP (FAI). PPAP include FAI, Material Certificates, Quality/Process Control Plan, FMEA, MSA, Process Parameter Sheet, RoHS compliance, Reliability Test, COC, etc.
  • Pilot Run Tracking---Track the new qualified parts quality performance to ensure meet the customer quality requirements in pilot run phase. Drive supplier corrective action from supplier in Pilot Runs (1-3 lots) and smoothly transfer the pilot run to mass production.
  • Hot Issue Solution and Trouble Shooting--- Working as SME (Subject Matter Expert) to help on supplier quality hot issue and trouble shooting.
  • Holds up Maintenance Audit---helps on the annual maintenance audit for existing suppliers with SQE.
  • Holds up Supplier CIP (Continuous Improvement Program) --- Helps supplier to use the quality tools to improve manufacturing process and product quality.
  • ECO/ECN/SCRimplementation---Handlewith ECO/ECN/SCR from customer, follow up the status in case that PPAP/FAI is required prior to production.
  • Has knowledge of a company's manufacturing process, applications and process development in order to intently work with suppliers in improving quality components of goods and services.
  • Performs quality audits on suppliers to assure products and services meet International Organization for Standards (ISO) and regulatory standards.
  • Forms a good relationship with the purchasing engineer and the supplier system in order to maintain a strong system and supplier relationships for the organization in which they work.
  • Provides cross functional help to select, approve and develop suppliers to meet customer and business needs.
  • Ensures supplier selection, development, approval and rejection according to SJM vendor guidelines and requirements.
  • Drives full assessment for effectiveness of supplier process control plans, measures and activities.
  • Uses statistical techniques and professional judgment to research data for process improvement.

  • Performs supplier Quality System audits.
  • Performs corrective and preventive actions with suppliers.
  • Performs researches of non-conformances and supplier performance for key performance indicators.
  • Performs dock-to-stock monitoring and part selection activities.
  • Provides guidance to project teams for supplied component and supplier qualifications
  • Guides teams in identification of risks/hazards relative to new product designs, processes, suppliers and applications.
  • Skillful and safe operation of job-related equipment.

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:

  • Develop and define corporate strategic plans for the PCB Commodity team and manage team members to ensure implementation of strategic initiatives.

  • Set and deliver on KPI commitments to the Procurement organization. Continuously review opportunities for improvement. Subject Matter Expertise for the managed commodity and ability to have market discussions both internally and externally as it relates to commercial trends, requirements and market direction. Establish credibility with customers through the demonstration of technical and commercial competence.

  • Manage the Flex Preferred Supplier Program for the identified commodity to consolidate spend, ensure technical and capacity coverage and have appropriate commercial agreements in place.

  • Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering and Quote teams to promote and position preferred suppliers and identify value engineering / improvements to drive competitive advantage. The lead is responsible for providing timely and adequate support to the quote team to secure new business.

  • Lead and manage regular supplier contract and pricing negotiations to achieve margin and cash targets.

  • Support internal vendor setup process to obtain best terms and ensure a smooth and timely manufacturing ramp on new programs.

  • Be responsible for making final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensure effective achievement of objectives. Be comfortable with major decisions that will impact profitability.

  • Act as escalation point for internal and external executives in the event of major supplier issues.

  • Communicate and implement strategies, contracts and pricing to achieve maximum advantage for the company and customers.

  • Intensively collaborate with all internal and external stakeholders to optimize overall Procurement goals and objectives.

  • Work with the Supply Chain, Site and Quote teams on supplier and sourcing strategies including supplier selection, risk analysis and capacity assessment.

  • Develop effective relationships in region to ensure that the team is fully engaged in alternate sourcing opportunities.

  • Liaise with senior management to ensure all activities are compliant with corporate policies.

  • Monitor Commodity market conditions, supplier technology roadmaps and assess supply/demand challenges. Gather relevant Market Intelligence and communicate to internal marketing teams as needed.

  • Use broad understanding of Flex’ strategy and capabilities combined with technical Commodity knowledge to enhance the function. Proactively identify new initiatives that can mitigate supply challenges or enhance Flex profitability and cash flow.

  • Disciplined management of procurement activities by utilizing appropriate tools and systems.

  • Work closely with management to develop resources to add value to the commodity function with regard to performance management and talent acquisition. Ensure succession and training plans are regularly updated and maintained.

  • Implement appropriate actions to recruit and retain qualified and motivated team members.

  • Support other strategic initiatives as needed in support of overall Procurement goals.


The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • BA/BS Degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Management or equivalent required. Electro-Mechanical a plus, Master degree preferred.

  • Fluency in English and Chinese is a minimum requirement.

  • 10+ years of increasingly responsible positions in Procurement, Supply Chain or Manufacturing, including at least 5 years in a people management role.

  • Successful track record of managing PCB suppliers in a large organization.

  • Strong understanding of PCB supplier landscape, technologies and costing.

  • Good negotiation skills, to make clear agreements with suppliers and the internal organization.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to make complex business decisions.

  • Identify, develop, implement, and maintain security processes, practices and policies at sites to eliminate risks, attend incidents, and limit exposure and liability in all areas of information, financial, physical, personal, and reputation risk.
  • Perform investigations involving allegations falling within Corporate Security's management including burglary, theft, in-transit shortages, crimes against persons and property, and business abuse.
  • Partner with Legal and Human Resources department to assist with due diligence investigations, as needed.
  • Manages fraud, waste and abuse reporting and information reward program.
  • Builds strong partnerships across site and regional teams with customer security service providers, site management and law enforcement, including search risk, benchmark standards and uncontrollable complexities to provide ethical and innovative solutions
  • In charge of criminal intelligence collection and research.
  • Site crisis management team through resiliency programs and clearing communicating policies and requirements to site management and employees.
  • Administers counter-terrorism and counter-espionage programs.
  • Assists Flex’s marketing efforts by establishing protection and risk plan for customer visits and conducting site visits with customers and their securityrepresentatives.
  • Guides the activities of contract site security officers and other contracted security providers.
  • Influences and maintains metrics and awareness programs.
  • Prepare and manage site security budget and forecasting.
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience andtraining.
  • Typically requires 11+ years of progressively responsible positions within corporate security or related area.
  • Demonstrates overall strong communication skills, as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of the specific discipline and manufacturing operationsbusiness.
  • Knowledge of Flex business a plus. Demonstrates detailed expertise in very complex functional/ technical area or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas; understands the strategic impact of the function across sites.
  • Requires thorough knowledge of related security systems and software.
