Supply Chain Analystwill be based in
Responsibilities:
Drives sourcing/pricing strategies in materials quotations.
Presents materials value-add to customers or suppliers, and influence customer to use Flex preferred suppliers.
Interfaces with customer or supplier in new project start-up, for cost of ownership issues.
Develops and guides implementation of flexibility and supply assurance plans.
Manages component cost/price on a local, regional and global basis.
Tracks materials financial performanceand initiate corrective actions when required.
Defines and implements pricing and costing strategies.
Coordinate sourcing strategies with Supply Management and Customers.
Develop andimplement cost take down strategies.
Increase Vendor Managed Inventory, Reduced Guide-Time and Electronic Data Interface penetration.
Specialized Job controls may be required for certain positions. These could include on or more of the following duties:
Supply Management:
Manage regional supplier contract negotiations, which includes Memorandums of Comprehension, Non-disclosure and regional pricing agreements.
Develop and maintain supplier relationships.
Measure and report Purchase Price Variance and initiate action plans.
Monitor and manage supplier times.
Mitigates shortages, excess on order and excess on hand.
Participate on and help global and regional commodity teams.
Contribute information/data on top spend suppliers for quarterly scorecards.
Customer Supply Chain Management:
Manages material cost reviews.
Drive initiatives to improve gross material margin.
Identify, implement and drive actions for Retained Purchase Price Variance (RPPV) optimization.
Drive reconciliation process with customer (PPV, Premium charges, carrying costs, freight charges, excess and obsolete inventory, Non-cancelable, Non-Returnable (NCNR), etc.)
Identify opportunities to increase turnkey business and develop materials management plan.
Coordinate quarterly/monthly PPVhard call
Qualifications:
Typically requires aBachelor'sdegree or equivalent experience.
Typically requires a minimum of 3 yearsofexperience in finance, materials sourcing, commodity management or supply chain design/management or other related area.
Musthave an understanding ofcost accounting, electronic component markets, price trends and technologies.
A background in electronics manufacturing and a thorough understanding of Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) product development process.

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:
Develop and define corporate strategic plans for the PCB Commodity team and manage team members to ensure implementation of strategic initiatives.
Set and deliver on KPI commitments to the Procurement organization. Continuously review opportunities for improvement. Subject Matter Expertise for the managed commodity and ability to have market discussions both internally and externally as it relates to commercial trends, requirements and market direction. Establish credibility with customers through the demonstration of technical and commercial competence.
Manage the Flex Preferred Supplier Program for the identified commodity to consolidate spend, ensure technical and capacity coverage and have appropriate commercial agreements in place.
Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering and Quote teams to promote and position preferred suppliers and identify value engineering / improvements to drive competitive advantage. The lead is responsible for providing timely and adequate support to the quote team to secure new business.
Lead and manage regular supplier contract and pricing negotiations to achieve margin and cash targets.
Support internal vendor setup process to obtain best terms and ensure a smooth and timely manufacturing ramp on new programs.
Be responsible for making final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensure effective achievement of objectives. Be comfortable with major decisions that will impact profitability.
Act as escalation point for internal and external executives in the event of major supplier issues.
Communicate and implement strategies, contracts and pricing to achieve maximum advantage for the company and customers.
Intensively collaborate with all internal and external stakeholders to optimize overall Procurement goals and objectives.
Work with the Supply Chain, Site and Quote teams on supplier and sourcing strategies including supplier selection, risk analysis and capacity assessment.
Develop effective relationships in region to ensure that the team is fully engaged in alternate sourcing opportunities.
Liaise with senior management to ensure all activities are compliant with corporate policies.
Monitor Commodity market conditions, supplier technology roadmaps and assess supply/demand challenges. Gather relevant Market Intelligence and communicate to internal marketing teams as needed.
Use broad understanding of Flex’ strategy and capabilities combined with technical Commodity knowledge to enhance the function. Proactively identify new initiatives that can mitigate supply challenges or enhance Flex profitability and cash flow.
Disciplined management of procurement activities by utilizing appropriate tools and systems.
Work closely with management to develop resources to add value to the commodity function with regard to performance management and talent acquisition. Ensure succession and training plans are regularly updated and maintained.
Implement appropriate actions to recruit and retain qualified and motivated team members.
Support other strategic initiatives as needed in support of overall Procurement goals.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
BA/BS Degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Management or equivalent required. Electro-Mechanical a plus, Master degree preferred.
Fluency in English and Chinese is a minimum requirement.
10+ years of increasingly responsible positions in Procurement, Supply Chain or Manufacturing, including at least 5 years in a people management role.
Successful track record of managing PCB suppliers in a large organization.
Strong understanding of PCB supplier landscape, technologies and costing.
Good negotiation skills, to make clear agreements with suppliers and the internal organization.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to make complex business decisions.
