Responsibilities

  • Take part in various custody operations processes
  • Create procedures for the regulated custody operations services and related functions
  • Evaluate crypto assets for in-depth security and resiliency analysis reporting
  • Use market data analysis to identify risk vectors for various crypto assets
  • Help prepare concise reporting for executive consumption and decision-making
  • Analyze crypto assets across various sectors to provide recommendations for the organization based on variable risk tolerances and use cases

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist in documenting functional and operational requirements for custody-related product features
  • Help track and document key decisions related to Fireblocks Trust product initiatives
  • Support communication between operations, engineering, and compliance teams regarding custody-related projects
  • Identify inefficiencies in custody workflows and propose improvements in collaboration with the wider team
  • Help draft client-facing and internal materials related to custody product updates
  • Assist in tracking and resolving operational incidents, working closely with the product and support teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Security, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent years of experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in operations, project management, or financial services
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with technical documents and blockchain protocols
  • Ability to work from our NYC office five days a week

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with digital assets, cryptocurrency, or blockchain projects
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and optimize operational processes
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks for financial services
  • Project management experience in fintech or financial services
  • Demonstrated passion for cryptocurrency and decentralized finance
  • Understanding of blockchain technology fundamentals

The Senior Counsel, America's role is based in New York and leads the Americas region. You will work closely with the VP of Sales Americas on strategic client matters and on advocacy and product issues. Your experience in the practice of law and your expertise on AMERICAS financial markets issues will make you a persuasive and effective advisor to both management and customers, positioning you as a strong candidate for this role.

You will work with business partners in a dynamic and fast-paced environment driving meaningful impact. You should be comfortable working in a technical, software development environment alongside product, engineering, finance, sales, and marketing professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on some of our largest commercial transactions in support of our SaaS services. You will be drafting and negotiating a wide variety of contracts with the leading financial institutions of the world.
  • Learn new technologies, products and practice areas without much precedence.
  • Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to deliver pragmatic guidance as part of the overall product design and business roadmap especially around security products
  • Develop the legal infrastructure for our products building the procedures between the legal team and the other client-facing teams across the company
  • Identify potential risk and advise the company executive team on ways to mitigate such risk
  • Advise clients on the various legal risks, business strategies, and other product and regulatory issues related to commercial transactions and general operations.
  • Create templates and advise on implementation.
  • Consult with the executive team on company-wide legal topics.

Required Skills

  • 7+ Years of experience working within a technology company, preferably with a SaaS or Software offering.
  • Background in Financial services, fintech, blockchain, cybersecurity, or crypto industry
  • J.D. or LL.B accredited from a law school
  • Experience at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house experience with software or technology companies and/or SaaS companies, preferred.
  • Experience as a team player who enjoys partnering with cross-functional teams to solve issues and work collaboratively to generate consensus across diverse points of view
  • Experience negotiating complex technology transactions on a global basis
  • Fastidious attention to detail in both oral and written communications

You'll report directly to the General Counsel, acting as a vital bridge between legal and various global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all legal matters related to our regulated activities, focusing on payment and custody services
  • Provide sophisticated legal guidance on complex regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions
  • Partner with business teams to structure compliant yet innovative financial products and services
  • Manage relationships with demanding institutional clients, regulators, and banking partners
  • Navigate high-risk regulatory environments while enabling business growth
  • Build positive and influential relationships with leadership and cross-functional partners, evangelizing the Legal team’s expertise and services across the company.
  • Collaborate with and support the General Counsel and the rest of the Legal team to evaluate and communicate legal risks to internal stakeholders and external parties.
  • Work closely with business partners to negotiate, structure, and draft legal agreements related to key corporate transactions, such as M&A, partnerships, and joint ventures.

Required Skills

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the NY bar
  • 10+ years of legal experience with significant focus on regulated financial technology companies
  • Extensive expertise in payments regulation, digital asset custody, and related frameworks
  • In-house experience at a fintech or digital asset company
  • Track record of successfully launching regulated financial products in multiple jurisdictions
  • Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment with limited resources
  • Demonstrated experience working with financial institutions and structuring legal partnerships.
  • Familiarity with corporate governance best practices on a global scale.
