Description:
We are seeking an architect specializing in multimedia algorithms (Imaging, Computer Vision, Graphics) for Silicon Acceleration. The role requires knowledge in both classic and ML algorithms. The candidate will lead the development of algorithms, software modeling, and bit-accurate specifications for hardware acceleration.
AR Silicon Accelerators Algorithms Architect Responsibilities
- Solve end-to-end problems in domains of Image processing for Camera / Display / Computer Vision / Graphics
- Invent and develop Algorithms that combine ML and ‘classic’ processing that are optimizing performance at low power
- Develop software including functional model and bit accurate model in fixed point
- Closely work with SW teams across the entire stack to support the enablement of the features
- Provide support and guidance to the silicon implementation teams that is designing and verifying the accelerators
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 12+ years of experience in Imaging Algorithms / CV Algorithms / Graphics
- Track record of developing algorithms, from concept to implementation in Silicon and / or Software
- Proficiency in C++ / C, including fixed point implementation
- Experience in developing models for performance analysis and optimization
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in EE / Computer Science or related fields
- Experience developing algorithms for acceleration in AR/VR or Mobile application processors

$212,000/year to $291,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Description:
This is an architect role in which you will be defining the architecture of the next generation of Machine Learning ASICs being built on the most modern process technologies and featuring industry leading performance and feature sets.
SoC Architect Responsibilities
- Work on modeling, performance analysis and architecture definition of Machine Learning ASICs.
- Map Data Center workloads to heterogeneous ASICs that contain multiple different programmable processors and hardware accelerators. Perform detailed calculations to specify computation throughput, memory bandwidth and latency, evaluate performance v/s area v/s power tradeoffs.
- Identify appropriate workloads and micro-benchmarks to be used for performance analysis and drive this analysis on simulation and emulation platforms to define and validate the architecture.
- Share your innovative architectural solutions with your peers and leadership, while mentoring members of the architecture team.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams working on RTL design, Design Verification, Firmware/Software development, Pre-Post silicon validation and Program Management to deliver first pass functional silicon.
- Collaborate with software and firmware teams to ensure that the ASIC meets end to end application performance goals while maintaining ease and efficiency of software development.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience and knowledge of Computer Architecture concepts such as microprocessor architecture, memory systems, on-chip interconnection networks, hardware/software partitioning etc.
- Programming in C or C++ with knowledge of mapping hardware algorithms to efficient C/C++ code.
- 12+ years of prior experience in defining and delivering multiple high performance ASICs into production, with focus on architecture definition and performance analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
- Domain knowledge in one or more of power/performance tradeoffs, digital signal processing, ML networks, ML frameworks such as Pytorch.
