Software Engineer, Product Responsibilities
  • Develop, design, create, modify, and/or test software applications or systems for various products or software services.
  • Develop a strong understanding of relevant product area, codebase, and/or systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in data analysis, programming, and software engineering.
  • Produce high-quality code with good test coverage using modern abstractions and frameworks.
  • May be assigned to specific group focused on product or infrastructure.
  • Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Master internal development standards from developing to releasing code in order to take on tasks and projects with increasing levels of complexity.
  • Participate in design reviews and code reviews for the software team.
  • Work with unfamiliar hardware at the SDK level to integrate systems together.
  • Write clean readable code, and debug complex problems that span systems.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, a related field and 6 months of work experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation
  • Requires 6 months of experience in the following:
  • 1. Coding in at least one of the following industry-standard languages: C, C++, Java, or C#
  • 2. Building large-scale infrastructure applications
  • 3. Creating web applications using at least one of the following: Python, PHP, or Ruby
  • 4. Relational databases and SQL
  • 5. Implementing web interfaces using at least one of the following: JavaScript, HTML, or CSS
  • 6. Software development practices including source control, code reviews, unit testing, debugging and profiling
  • 7. Code bases covering different layers in the software stack
  • 8. Developing code in power and resource constrained embedded systems
  • 9. Debugging complex, system-level, multi-component issues that typically span across multiple layers from kernel to application

Reality Labs is shaping the future of consumer electronics in the emerging fields of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality. As Product Visualization Specialist, you will partner with industrial design and marketing to create world-class, photorealistic product imagery that pushes the state-of-the-art in rendering and styling. You bring visual storytelling and industry leading hands-on rendering and 3D skills together to create delightful brand-building digital product photography, artworks and animations. You will be part of a vibrant team of artists, to collaboratively explore and deliver the product imagery of the future.
Product Visualization Specialist Responsibilities
  • Create state-of-the-art imagery of category-defining products.
  • Help create the visual language of our brand through imagery.
  • Work collaboratively with multiple cross-functional teams on complex multi discipline programs.
  • Conceive elegant, effective ways to showcase our products, highlight features, and inspire consumers.
  • Lead/own imagery needs with a combination of internal and external resources.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, motion design, art/animation or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in product rendering, 3D animation, 3D art or a related field.
  • 2+ years experience of rendering and lighting consumer electronics or wearable tech products.
  • Demonstrated expertise in product animation with a solid skill set ranging from concepting and storyboarding to final rendering.
  • Domain experience in rendering process from polygon optimization through raytracing.
  • Experience working with 3D CAD data.
  • Experience in a physically-based rendering program(s) (Redshift, Octane, V-Ray, Arnold, Corona, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working within Cinema4D, Redshift, Photoshop, After Effects.
  • Expertise in creating and animating VFX (Houdini and/or Cinema4D)
  • Comfortable leading the look and feel of a project.
  • Clear understanding of the notions of Metaverse, VR/AR/MR.
  • Great knowledge of branding and marketing best practices.
