  • Develop, design, create, modify, and/or test software applications or systems for various products or software services.
  • Develop a strong understanding of relevant product area, codebase, and/or systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in data analysis, programming, and software engineering.
  • Produce high-quality code with good test coverage using modern abstractions and frameworks.
  • May be assigned to specific group focused on product or infrastructure.
  • Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Master internal development standards from developing to releasing code in order to take on tasks and projects with increasing levels of complexity.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences or related field
  • Requires completion of a graduate-level course, research project or internship involving the following:
  • Coding in at least one of the following industry-standard languages: C, C++, Java, or C#
  • Building large-scale infrastructure applications
  • Creating web applications using at least one of the following: Python, PHP, or Ruby
  • Relational databases
  • SQL

Partner Data Science Manager, Americas Responsibilities
  • Lead and grow our team of Partner Data Scientists by hiring and mentoring highly talented and motivated individuals
  • Develop strategies and best practices to improve the team's work with partners in understanding their business needs and challenges, and delivering value to them through insights
  • Apply your expertise in quantitative business analysis & data mining to see beyond the numbers and scale actionable insights and recommended business strategies across Mobile partners and to other regional partnership teams
  • Actively improve the business model development of our partner growth programs by representing global partner performance and feedback in our HQ, and to inform, influence, and support product development
  • Build strategic relationships with global & cross-functional partners to drive improvements to strategy, market team activities and support, and build consensus on priorities
  • Help shape program strategy and establish shared goals, while working with cross-functional partners and leaders across the organization on strategies for executing, measuring progress and sharing results
  • Track, analyze, and communicate key quantitative metrics and develop and execute against partner account plans
  • Proactively manage expectations of all interested parties: define clear roadmaps and goals, provide frequent updates, identify and communicate risks & adjustments to overall progress & ensure commitments are supported
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS, MS, or MBA in a quantitative field
  • 10+ years experience in data science, analytics, and working with clients
  • Experience managing, mentoring, or coaching an analytics team
  • Experience developing and effectively managing relationships with external and internal partners
  • Experience working with large datasets, data mining, and statistical analysis
  • Experience working with SQL and Python or R, and visualization tools like Tableau
  • Experience working with a mobile operator, network planning organization or third party vendor/consultancy on business strategy, analytics or network performance
  • Track record of operating and delivering results in a highly organized manner
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships with peers and stakeholders and collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple geographies and time zones
  • Communication and presentation skills, and the experience to clarify and summarize complex issues
  • Experience working across time zones, remote teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of telecom business products, subscription based business models, and/or infrastructure network principles, such as coverage and capacity requirements
  • Knowledge of operator KPIs such as retention, network metrics, measurements and performance data
  • Experience working on network performance and analytics for an operator or equipment vendor deploying or operating telecom networks
  • Demonstrated experience in thinking strategically about complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations and action plans
  • Experience distilling/prioritizing needs of diverse stakeholders to inform an action plan

You’ll join Instagram in a hybrid role that encompasses art, design, and software engineering, and will be involved in every phase of the product development cycle — from initial strategy through launch.
Creative Coder Responsibilities
  • Conceptualize, prototype, and build innovative tools, and carry them through to bug-free, performant code releases.
  • Collaborate with designers and engineers to identify and implement creative/technical strategy and hands-on solutions throughout all phases of the product development cycle.
  • Develop shaders and translate designs into code.
  • Develop internal tools, functional prototypes, and production pipelines for your cross functional partners.
  • Clearly communicate your thinking and creative/technical decisions to a variety of partners.
  • Give and solicit feedback from partners in service of building the best products.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years professional experience as a creative coder, creative technologist, or similar role.
  • Experience in authoring shaders in GLSL or Metal, and solid understanding of computer graphics fundamentals.
