Data Engineer Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and launch data pipelines to move data across systems and build the next generation of data tools that generate business insights for a product.
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine workability and to offer support for end users on data usage.
  • Design, architect, and develop software and data solutions that help product and business teams make data-driven decisions.
  • Rethink and influence strategy and roadmap for building efficient data solutions and scalable data warehouse plans.
  • Design, develop, test, and launch new data models and processes into production, and provide support.
  • Leverage homegrown extract, transform, and load (ETL) framework as well as off-the-shelf ETL tools, as appropriate.
  • Interface closely with data infrastructure, product, and engineering teams to build and extend cross platform ETL and reports generation framework.
  • Identify data infrastructure issues and drive to resolution.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Data Analytics, or a closely-related field. Position requires requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, thesis, or any amount of experience in each of the following skills:
  • 1. Data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) design, implementation, and maintenance on a large scale
  • 2. Programming in Python, Perl, Java, or PHP
  • 3. Internet technologies: HTTP, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript
  • 4. Writing SQL statements

Market Specialist, Global Response Operations, Japan Responsibilities
  • Work as part of the Japan team, enforcing on crisis response within the Asia Pacific region while specifically representing the Japan market
  • Work as part of an On-call Operational structure to enforce on critical content within SEO Markets with a higher focus on Japan
  • Use a combination of language and Japan market geopolitical knowledge, understanding of language, social nuances nuances and minority communities, to capture signals and insights to enforce and solve for complex risk and operational issues within the region
  • Scope scalable solutions to improve the support of our community of users in the Japan market and in partnership with other regions
  • Investigate and resolve issues that are reported on Meta products, such as requests for account support and reports of potentially abusive content including but not limited to graphic images, videos and writings, offensive or derogatory language, and other objectionable material
  • Support enforcement efforts on agnostic content that originates from multiple sources globally, where language expertise is not required
  • Support enforcement efforts identifying integrity risks to our local and regional advertising business and enforce on these risks
  • Analyze key metrics and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve our processes and tools
  • Build subject matter expertise around abuse areas prevalent in the region and work with the team on enforcement efforts to manage and control impacts
  • Investigate emerging risk across the region and influence cross functional resolution. Provide input and support on policy recommendations using geopolitical as well as operational understanding with cross-functional partners
  • Remain up to date on key workflow changes, operational guidelines, policy updates and our Community Standards
  • Support the operationalisation of regulations in Japan, and to work on key enforcement activities to comply with local regulations
Minimum Qualifications
  • 1+ year of professional experience within an operations environment
  • Fluency in Japanese and experience communicating with a variety of audiences and stakeholders from the Japanese
  • Demonstrated experience working with social media platforms, particularly Facebook and Instagram
  • Can work with graphic and/or objectionable content
  • Experience working with ambiguity and developing new processes or solutions in response to changing circumstances
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical and data skills such as Excel and SQL and experience with visualisation tools such as Tableau to drive efficient analytics and reporting
  • Experience with training, quality assurance or metrics analysis

  • This role may involve exposure to graphic and/or objectionable content including but not limited to graphic images, videos and writings, offensive or derogatory language, and other potential objectionable material, i.e. child exploitation, graphic violence, self-injury, animal abuse, and other content which may be considered offensive or disturbing.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Fluency in Maghreb Arabic dialect and French
  • 1+ years of professional experience within an operations environment
  • Experience communicating with a variety of audiences and stakeholders from the Tunisia market
  • Demonstrated experience working with social media platforms, particularly Facebook and Instagram
  • Good interpersonal skills and can build relationships with internal and external partners
