Your key responsibilities
There isn't an average day for a Real Estate Tax Manager – so you're likely to spend your time on a diverse array of tax consulting and compliance projects, responsibilities, and tasks. Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Tax, Law or a related field and 2 years of work experience in Tax and/or Financial Planning. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Tax, Law or related field and 1 year of work experience in Tax and/or Financial Planning.Must have 1 year of experience in a professional services firm, or mid-sized/regional to large sized/national public accounting firm.
Must have 1 year of experience in 3 or more of the following: federal and state personal and trust taxation; flow through entities (S-Corps, Partnerships and LLCs); C-Corps including income tax provisions and consolidated federal and state tax returns; and/or high net-worth tax planning.
Must have 1 year of experience in conducting tax law research.
Must have 1 year of experience in one of the following automated tax processing systems: GoSystems, CS Planner, Excel, and/or Checkpoint SurePrep.
Must have 1 year of experience delegating work to junior tax professionals and reviewing their drafts.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business or a related field, plus 5 years of post-bachelor’s, progressive related work experience. Alternatively, will accept a Master's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business or a related field, plus 4 years of related work experience.
Must have 2 years of experience in engagement management, engagement execution and reporting, and client relationship building while serving clients in one or a combination of the following industries:
- Asset management industry, including mutual fund complexes, hedge funds, private equity funds, and/or other investment vehicles.- Banking/capital markets industry, including retail, commercial or investment banks, brokers/dealers, and/or similar institutions.
- Real Estate, Hospitality and Construction (RHC) clients.
Must have 2 years of experience in a combination involving all of the following:
- Supervising the planning, execution, reporting on audits of financial statements prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAS and U.S. GAAP, and/or foreign equivalent (International Accounting Standards (IAS));
- Supervising audit teams consisting of two or more staff members; and
- Recent audit experience working with a public company that is registered with PCAOB.
Must have 1 year of experience using audit documentation software.
Must have one of the following:
· active US CPA certificate; or
· foreign certificate in accountancy and sufficient coursework/experience requirements as determined by the work location state Board of Accountancy to obtain US CPA certification.
Requires domestic travel up to 25% in order to serve client needs.

Our Transaction Economics Group (TEG) specializes in the analysis of structured financial transactions covering a variety of industries. Drawing on our academic background in economics and finance, as well as our substantial industry experience, we work closely with our clients and other groups at EY, including M&A, Capital Markets, Partnerships/Joint Ventures and International Tax. As part of this group, you'll utilize a wide range of financial and economic modeling techniques, including cash flow modeling, derivatives pricing, term structure modeling, statistical analyses, debt-equity analyses, risk-return analytics and risk management techniques.
Your key responsibilities
Your typical day will involve working in small groups on projects with internal or external clients. You'll be heavily involved in drafting formal deliverables, developing customized financial models, researching business and capital markets trends and speaking to your findings. On top of this you'll be exposed to companies across various industries and located around the world, learning new things every day. We'll look to you to get familiar with certain tax policies and their implications to build your knowledge around research tools and resources so you can speak articulately about a business, industry, or market development.
