The Ethics, Compliance, and Risk Management (ECRM) CPA Licensing team supports our organization in managing risks related to CPA licensing requirements in the US. We collaborate across the organization to identify, manage, and monitor these risks while providing coordinated advice and assistance.

CPA Licensing Compliance is seeking an Assistant Director to support and manage the various requirements surrounding CPA compliance. The Assistant Director will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with CPA licensing requirements, leveraging a strong background in accountancy, preferably with experience at a State Board of Accountancy, NASBA, or within a CPA practice. This role will involve providing complex consultations, conducting in-depth reviews of state board rules and regulations, and fostering increased interactions with ECRM, Service Line Quality (SLQLs) and Talent Leaders. This position will interact with executive level personnel.

Your key responsibilities

  • Provide complex consultations regarding CPA licensing processes, requirements, and best practices.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of state board rules and regulations to ensure alignment with current practices and policies
  • Monitor trends and changes in regulations impacting CPA licensing and advise on necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with Service Line leaders and Talent Leaders to enhance understanding of services related to licensure requirements.
  • Prepare and present reports on regulatory changes to leadership.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in meetings with area leadership, general counsel’s office (“GCO”), and risk management.
  • Propose suggestions for improvement, leveraging experience and existing ECRM processes.
  • Facilitate the process to completion by following up on requests and assisting EY personnel with certification/licensing questions.
  • Perform internal and external research to assist with compliance recommendations.
  • Proactively notify appropriate EY individuals of identified issues with quality, confidentiality, or risk.
  • Solve complex problems, partnering with professionals to remediate certification or licensing issues.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders and independently answer complex questions from clients.
  • Document work processes and findings in appropriate work programs.

What we offer

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $100,000 to $187,000. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $120,000 to $212,500. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.   • Assists with strategy formation, direction, and portfolio management of technology risk management activities

  • Assists in maintaining and updating related EY policies, guidance, training, and communication plans to reflect new and/or changes to Artificial Intelligence laws, regulations, and standards

What we offer
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $100,000 to $187,000. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $120,000 to $212,500. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
