As a member of People Consulting, you will:

As a Manager in our FAAS practice, you’ll join either our Finance Optimisation or our Accounting and Transactions Accounting team.

This role is based out of our Reading or Manchester office.

Your key responsibilities

  • Leading end-to-end project delivery of projects such as cross border transactions, capital raising, controls and accounting projects, collaborating with client stakeholders, EY team members and building strong cross service line relationships. Clients are primarily UK based but occasional overseas travel may be required.
  • Developing your own portfolio of assurance projects, taking responsibility for delivery of complex deadline-driven engagements

  • Leading or contributing proactively to business development initiatives and building robust internal and external networks.

  • Proven experience in leading accounting and finance related processes such as Record-to-Report (R2R), Financial Close Process, and non-financial reporting ideally from Big 4 or industry roles
  • Familiarity with finance applications e.g. SAP, Oracle, EPM systems such as Anaplan and Hyperion and enhancing clients’ reporting efficiency.

Accounting and transactions skills and attributes for success:

  • Strong capability in researching and resolving technical accounting issues, enabling successful GAAP conversions, carve outs, IPOs and creating well written technical accounting papers.

With a specific focus on learning, you will:

  • Shape, develop and deliver learning programmes, with our account teams and other practice areas (standalone or as a part of larger transformation programmes) in areas such as (but not exhaustive):

  • Designing and building the learning function of the future.

  • Developing learning strategies (at enterprise level or specific transformation programme level), including learning technologies, and subsequent execution.

  • Creating impactful learning solutions – including the design, development, and deployment of learning assets (digital and non-digital).

  • Driving strategic change and organization performance through learning initiatives (including learning analytics).

  • Lead pursuit and delivery teams to deliver client projects and business development activities to ensure quality and operational excellence for our teams.

  • Lead and manage complex learning projects and programmes of work including managing teams of employees, stakeholders, third party providers and learning design teams.

  • Develop our learning offerings and products available across a variety of subjects, from Risk and Regulation, to Sustainability, helping develop our business and assume responsibility for different team initiatives and activities.

  • Bring your innovation, understanding of the industry and latest trends to ensure to delivery of market-leading, relevant and targeted solutions and content rich thought leadership to clients.

To qualify for this role, you must have:

  • A comprehensive understanding of adult learning theory and behavioural change principles

  • Core consulting skills gained through working in a professional services firm, global consultancy, boutique consultancy or an in-house role with exposure to large-scale programmes of work.

  • Experience in architecting learning solutions, including analysis, design, content development, and train the trainer, to ensure measurable outcomes within large, complex organisations.

  • Experience of managing learning vendors alongside internal and/or client teams/stakeholders to drive target outputs/outcomes.

  • Ability to translate and operationalise learning strategy.

  • Ability to proactively build relationships and manage stakeholders, including providing robust advice, constructive challenge, influencing decisions, delivering difficult messages and managing performance issues.

  • Strong project management and written and verbal communication skills, and experience of producing robust analysis, reports, papers and presentations.

  • Experience of designing learning across different formats.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience of working across financial services: banking, insurance, and wealth and asset management.

  • Relevant degree-level education and/or professional qualifications.
