Our Tax Reporting practice within the UK Tax Technology and Transformation team will give you the opportunity to further develop your skills while assisting our clients in dealing with the operational challenges that their world class tax functions are facing today. You will be working with clients to improve the operational effectiveness and efficiency of their tax functions and assist them to better connect with executive management.

Your Key Responsibilities

We are looking for strong candidates with experience of working within direct tax (in-house or professional services) and a keen interest in technology. Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Lead client design session supporting with the development of the operating models for Group reporting requirements.
  • Manage projects related to the implementation of tax technology solutions, ensuring alignments with the IFRS/USGAAP tax requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, providing high-quality consultancy and support on tax technology related matters.
  • Drive the automation of tax processes to improve efficiency, reduce errors and ensure compliance with changing tax laws and standards.
  • Mentor and coach junior staff, providing regular feedback and support to aid in their professional development.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar and their tax/finance related modules.
  • Have an interest and experience in improving the performance of tax functions, the demonstrated ability to team with and motivate others, and willingness to develop meaningful and influential relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Taking ownership of assigned tasks and monitoring them until completion, including documenting requirements, configuration, testing, debugging, project profitability, and tax systems and process configuration
  • Strong leadership ability, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, analytical abilities
  • Identifying ways to automate manual tasks using existing financial or tax systems and emerging technologies
  • Ability to work on deliverables from offshore teams (as needed) to deliver projects to time, cost and quality requirements
  • Consolidating tax data to make analysis and planning more efficient
  • Improving reporting capabilities to enhance our clients’ ability to evaluate risk and capitalize on opportunities

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 4+ years experience working within Tax Technology, Tax compliance or a related advisory role. (either in-house or professional services)
  • A thorough understanding of Direct Tax compliance processes (Group Tax Reporting, Tax Accounting preferable)
  • Familiarity of IAS12/ASC 740 reporting standards and direct experience in the calculation of income taxes (current and deferred taxes)
  • Experience with tax reporting technologies in the market (ONESOURCE Tax Provision, Longview Tax, etc.)
  • Exposure to accounting/finance/tax, tax or finance performance improvement, tax software development and/or implementation
  • A strong interest in technology and its use in business processes
  • Excellent communication and business writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to capture and synthesize business requirements
  • A natural flair for problem solving and an entrepreneurial approach to work
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with exceptional client-serving consulting skills

Ideally, you may also have

  • Experience in project management
  • Experience implementing third-party tax reporting systems or configuration of Enterprise Performance Management systems for Group Tax Reporting
  • Experience with data analytic tools such as Alteryx
  • Experience of the Microsoft Power Platform suite, including Power Query and Power BI
  • A basic knowledge of database development e.g. writing SQL statements

Our Tax Reporting practice within the UK Tax Technology and Transformation team will give you the opportunity to further develop your skills while assisting our clients in dealing with the operational challenges that their world class tax functions are facing today. You will be working with clients to improve the operational effectiveness and efficiency of their tax functions and assist them to better connect with executive management.

Your Key Responsibilities

We are looking for strong candidates with experience of working within direct tax (in-house or professional services) and a keen interest in technology. Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Lead client design session supporting with the development of the operating models for Group reporting requirements.
  • Manage projects related to the implementation of tax technology solutions, ensuring alignments with the IFRS/USGAAP tax requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, providing high-quality consultancy and support on tax technology related matters.
  • Drive the automation of tax processes to improve efficiency, reduce errors and ensure compliance with changing tax laws and standards.
  • Mentor and coach junior staff, providing regular feedback and support to aid in their professional development.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar and their tax/finance related modules.
  • Have an interest and experience in improving the performance of tax functions, the demonstrated ability to team with and motivate others, and willingness to develop meaningful and influential relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Taking ownership of assigned tasks and monitoring them until completion, including documenting requirements, configuration, testing, debugging, project profitability, and tax systems and process configuration
  • Strong leadership ability, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, analytical abilities
  • Identifying ways to automate manual tasks using existing financial or tax systems and emerging technologies
  • Ability to work on deliverables from offshore teams (as needed) to deliver projects to time, cost and quality requirements
  • Consolidating tax data to make analysis and planning more efficient
  • Improving reporting capabilities to enhance our clients’ ability to evaluate risk and capitalize on opportunities
  • Desire and demonstrated ability to provide leadership within a team

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 4+ years experience working within Tax Technology, Tax compliance or a related advisory role. (either in-house or professional services)
  • A thorough understanding of Direct Tax compliance processes (Group Tax Reporting, Tax Accounting preferable)
  • Familiarity of IAS12/ASC 740 reporting standards and direct experience in the calculation of income taxes (current and deferred taxes)
  • Experience with tax reporting technologies in the market (ONESOURCE Tax Provision, Longview Tax, etc.)
  • Exposure to accounting/finance/tax, tax or finance performance improvement, tax software development and/or implementation
  • A strong interest in technology and its use in business processes
  • Excellent communication and business writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to capture and synthesize business requirements
  • A natural flair for problem solving and an entrepreneurial approach to work
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with exceptional client-serving consulting skills

Ideally, you may also have

  • Experience in project management
  • Experience implementing third-party tax reporting systems or configuration of Enterprise Performance Management systems for Group Tax Reporting
  • Experience with data analytic tools such as Alteryx
  • Experience of the Microsoft Power Platform suite, including Power Query and Power BI
  • A basic knowledge of database development e.g. writing SQL statements
  • ERP or EPM experience e.g. SAP, Oracle, OneStream, Tagetik etc
