Your key responsibilities

The nature of this role means that you will be recognized as a primary day-to-day contact for our clients.   • Experience with any of the following: preparation or auditing of Federal financial statements, operations research, advanced data analytics knowledge, exploratory data mining and data visualization
  • Strong technical writing skills and
  • A deep understanding of the objectives of Federal financial management, as well as commonly used terminology, processes and tools
  • A proven record of excellence when managing, mentoring and improving a team of high-performing colleagues
  • The confidence to assess risk and provide well thought out solutions
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher
  • The EY Government and Public Sector Practice's staffing model is to assign resources to projects aligned to the office within the metropolitan area you have been hired; however, in certain circumstances, travel may be required within and/or beyond your geographic region based on client and project needs.  For roles within the federal practice, the flexibility to travel up to approximately 30% is preferred. Within the state, local and education practice, the flexibility to travel up to approximately 80% is preferred.

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $89,900 to $148,300. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $107,900 to $168,500. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.

Your key responsibilities

The nature of this role means that you will be recognized as a primary day-to-day contact for our clients. That means you'll need to understand how our client's data integrity and quality allow for more reliable reporting.  You'll also develop your knowledge by learning about current issues, profession, and business developments relevant to the client's industry, so we'll look to you to build relationships and expertise with team members.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline
  • At least 3 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience applying Federal US GAAP and GASB standards
  • Pursing a CPA certification
  • Experience with any of the following: preparation or auditing of Federal financial statements, operations research, advanced data analytics knowledge, exploratory data mining and data visualization
  • Strong technical writing skills and
  • A deep understanding of the objectives of Federal financial management, as well as commonly used terminology, processes and tools
  • A proven record of excellence when managing, mentoring and improving a team of high-performing colleagues
  • The confidence to assess risk and provide well thought out solutions
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher
  • The EY Government and Public Sector Practice's staffing model is to assign resources to projects aligned to the office within the metropolitan area you have been hired; however, in certain circumstances, travel may be required within and/or beyond your geographic region based on client and project needs.  For roles within the federal practice, the flexibility to travel up to approximately 30% is preferred. Within the state, local and education practice, the flexibility to travel up to approximately 80% is preferred.

Ideally you'll also have

  • US CPA licensure in your work state
  • CGFM and/or CDFM

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $89,900 to $148,300. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $107,900 to $168,500. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
