Tax Advisor - Private Client Services – Advisory

  • personal tax transaction and reorganisation advice;
  • residency advice on leaving or coming to the UK;
  • advice on optimisation of wealth from a tax perspective, and
  • estate and succession tax advice.

Your key responsibilities

  • Working as part of a team on the efficient management and delivery of a portfolio of private client tax advisory projects.
  • Assist the senior team with the successful delivery of tax advisory projects, ensuring technical excellence and a practical and business driven approach is maintained.
  • Build and foster relationships with clients and colleagues, providing excellent client service, identifying opportunities and managing expectations.
  • Provision of development support to junior members of the team through effective supervision, coaching and mentoring.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Personal advisory tax experience. Strong tax technical skills and keen to develop their advisory skill set further.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines, monitor own budgets and fees.

Your key responsibilities

    • Contribute to the design and delivery of Microsoft Fabric solution architecture for complex client projects.
    • Support diverse project teams working across Microsoft Fabric, including data engineers, data architects, and Power BI developers, delivering end-to-end modern data platform solutions.
    • Implement Fabric-based data artefacts using Lakehouses, Data Warehouses, Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and Notebooks in line with client needs and industry best practices.
    • Guide teams on best practices in Direct Lake mode, OneLake shortcuts, delta tables, and efficient data layer separation (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
    • Implement Fabric-native data governance to ensure compliance, privacy, and data protection across domains.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including cloud engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders—to translate business needs into robust Microsoft Fabric-based technical designs.
    • Assist with data architecture assessments for legacy or cloud-based environments and develop Fabric-based migration roadmaps, including data modelling, ingestion, transformation, and reporting.
    • Understand CI/CD processes for Fabric using Azure DevOps Git integration, including workspace branching strategies, pull requests, build and release pipelines.
    • Stay current with Microsoft Fabric product evolution, industry trends, and data architecture patterns.

To qualify for the role;

    • Experience in data architecture and engineering, including experience leading enterprise-scale cloud data projects.
    • Proven experience in deploying solutions within Microsoft Fabric.
    • Solid understanding of data modelling techniques across transactional, analytical, and semantic layers; strong hands-on experience using delta lake formats and Fabric Lakehouse/SQL endpoints.
    • Experience building and orchestrating Data Pipelines and Dataflows Gen2, including incremental loads, change data capture, and medallion architecture design.
    • Strong leadership and client-facing communication skills.
    • Experience managing teams and mentoring junior employees.

The following will be an advantage;

    • Consulting experience, with the ability to build trusted advisor relationships and provide both strategic and hands-on implementation guidance.

Your key responsibilities

  • Working effectively as a senior member of the team under the supervision of Partners within SaT G&IA as well as other EY departments in both Ireland and internationally on the following assignments:

o Strategic advice - various advice relating to strategic matters, which vary considerably from client to client

o PPPs – advising public and private clients in relation to the procurement and funding of infrastructure assets through PPP

  • Understanding our client requirements, co-developing our approach with the client, and providing value to our clients through insights, factual conclusions, and advice.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships and market profile with a view to winning business for the practice
  • Lead and manage a challenging and varied client portfolio, both public and private side

Skills and attributes for success

  • Ideally you will have an accounting qualification – Chartered Accountant or equivalent; a sound grasp of Irish Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and financial accounting
  • High level of business awareness and a strong understanding of the factors that drive financial performance
  • Highly numerate with a sound grasp of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • A track record in infrastructure advisory and/or corporate finance advisory, experience of working in a professional services environment, and exposure to high profile transactions, would all be a distinct advantage
  • Familiarity with the development or formal review of financial models is a pre-requisite
  • Strong leadership skills, willingness to learn and a positive attitude

  • Qualified with ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification with proven relevant and transferrable work experience

Post Audit

  • Adequate fee recovery, variance analysis, billing procedures and pursuing overdue accounts.
  • Arrangement of closing meeting including preparation of support for agenda.
  • Controlling preparation of final version accounts and reports.


To qualify for the role you must have

  • Proven track record of outstanding performance.
  • Worked on Large / Multinational clients
  • Clearly demonstrate an on-going commitment to personal and professional development through continuing education and development.
  • Qualified Accountant -e.g. ACA, ACCA, CPA qualified
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant post qualification experience, including at least one in a role as an audit manager or with equivalent experience
  • Ability and willingness to work primarily on challenging and complex projects
  • Experience with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) & “new” UK GAAP
  • An ability to manage projects and teams
  • High Technical Knowledge
