You will perform statistical and quantitative analysis to validate models and present results internally, to clients, and to regulators via dedicated memos and presentations.

What you can contribute – skills for shaping the future

• You hold an MSc or PhD in a quantitative field (mathematics, physics, statistics, financial or computational engineering, econometrics) and might have 1-3 years of relevant professional experience in a consulting environment, a financial risk management team or a model development/validation team in the financial industry.

Consultant to Manager - Financial Services Risk Management

As part of the FSRM team, you’ll focus on client opportunities where your expertise can make a substantial impact. You’ll build valuable relationships across the industry, gain broad industry experience, and develop strong capabilities, through both formal training and working with senior mentors and talented colleagues.

Your key responsibilities

1. Delivering engagements: managing an end-to-end component of an engagement, including production of deliverables on time and to required quality standards, client management and supervision of more junior team members.
2. Helping clients: working directly with clients to understand their business models, financial structures, and specific risk exposures.
3. Assessing risks: evaluation of client financial and non-financial risks, including credit risk, market risk, liquidity risk and a wide range of operational risks.
4. Providing risk and regulatory advice: advising clients on a wide range of risks, including in relation to the requirements of regulators such as APRA, ASIC and AUSTRAC.

Skills and attributes for success

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

• 1+ years of experience in a financial services consulting firm or major financial institution, where you focused on one or more of the following disciplines:
  • Risk culture, conduct and compliance
  • Regulatory and risk reporting
  • Financial crime
  • Financial risk - credit, market, funding and / or liquidity risk
  • Operational risk – general or in a technical area such as AI, data, technology and records risk
  • Regulation and prudential supervision (including experience working with a regulator and/or EDR scheme)
