Your key responsibilities
You will combine strong technical skills with practical commercial, legislative and industry knowledge to lead a team in providing tax services. You will be responsible for a team to help manage our clients’ compliance and reporting needs. You will establish, maintain and strengthen valued internal and external relationships and ensure that the services delivered to clients is of the highest quality.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of client engagements, monitor progress and deliverables, put in place the necessary standardized processes, anticipate and identify risks, escalate issues as appropriate and drive performance-improvement solutions. You will supervise high performing teams and build a positive learning culture, coaching and counseling junior team members to help them develop. You will also be responsible for ensuring adherence to our Tax Quality guidelines.

Senior Manager, IFRS Professional Practice, Kuwait and Qatar
Join IFRS Professional Practice within Assurance and you will provide technical consultation to our offices within MENA to address the accounting and financial reporting challenges our engagement teams face while dealing with audit and accounting advisory engagements.
Your key responsibilities
IFRS Professional Practice Senior Manager work closely with all EY offices in the MENA region including Professional practice colleagues and engagement teams. You will assist partners and engagement teams in researching and resolving IFRS technical consultations and queries. As Senior manager you will be involved in developing thought leadership for an external audience and internal guidance for our engagement teams on accounting and financial reporting matters.
You will provide IFRS technical support on a consultative basis to EY offices in MENA for reaching conclusions on complex IFRS matters while preparing internal guidance arising from consultations. Moreover, you will also prepare timely updates of our research, learning materials, and tools for accounting consideration while participating in thought leadership for new and emerging accounting and financial reporting issues, including standard setter projects and industry-specific content.
Furthermore, you will be responsible for liaising with EY Global and EMEIA IFRS Professional Practices as necessary and ddelivering training as and when technical specialisation is required. You will also work on developing our comment letters on proposed standards that provide input to the IASB and will provide support on corporate treasury and financial accounting advisory engagements.

UKI Tax - Manager - International Tax and Transaction Services - Mergers and Acquisitions
You will be working with some of the sector leading Partners who are well known and respected in the market. You’ll also be working with a high performing team who have advised on many high profile and market leading transactions over the past few years.

In this team, you will get wide-ranging experience in all the core areas of the deal cycle, including tax structuring, sell and buy side tax due diligence, funds flows, SPA reviews and refinancings.
As deal advisers, International Transaction Tax team members not only get good UK tax technical experience but also get a commercial understanding of what is important to our clients in a deal context. As a large part of ITTS work is cross-border, you will also have an early introduction to international structuring techniques and overseas tax regimes.

· Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work
· Experience of coaching and developing more junior staff
· Knowledge of the tax elements of Mergers & Acquisitions helpful but not a pre-requisite for the role
