Typical activities will include the following:

  • Our Transaction Diligence team aims to assist clients throughout the transaction process and works closely with other specialists both within SaT and other Service Lines. Whilst traditional financial due diligence is a key element of our work, we also seek to understand the strategic rationale for the transaction and look to incorporate technology tools and data analytics into our work.
  • Typically, you'll analyse the financial and operational results of companies targeted for sale by reviewing financial information and participating in interviews with management.
  • Based on understanding the key business drivers, prepare and review analyses of historical and pro forma financial information to assess trends and fluctuations that may impact funding requirements and deal valuation
  • Project manage teams and work closely with all members as well as forming strong internal links within SaT and other departments in EY both in the Ireland and internationally to form multi-disciplinary teams
  • Connect with specialists in researching technical accounting issues to evaluate implications on transaction valuation and structuring and communicate accordingly with clients
  • Plan, prepare and lead a significant portion of the preparation of client deliverables including excel databook analysis, reports, presentations and discussion packs
  • Lead presentations and interactions with the clients and key stakeholders on projects
  • Play a role in business planning initiatives (e.g. key accounts, recruitment, client service framework)
  • Work effectively as a team member by demonstrating your commitment to quality, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior management members on progress.
  • Help to create a positive learning culture for junior team members and support their development. And as part of your role in the wider team, you’ll have a role to play in other team initiatives – for example, account management, target client research and recruitment

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Strong academic record including a degree in Business / Commerce or equivalent qualification
  • ACA / ACCA qualified Current experience working in a transaction financial due diligence role at a manager level
  • Ability to attend the Dublin EY office a number of days a week

To qualify for the role you must have

· A bachelor's degree in technology, information science, accounting, or finance and minimum of 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and minimum 4 years of related work experience

· Approved technical certification, CPA license or membership to a state Bar

· Hands-on technical experience with expertise in delivering innovative, data-driven solutions using modern analytics and AI technologies

· Experience with developing solutions using Microsoft Azure, IBM watsonx, or Databricks stack

· A strong interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies and leveraging them to optimize and transform business processes

· Experience designing and developing scalable, high-performance databases, particularly using Microsoft SQL Server, to support robust analytics and data-driven decision-making

· Strong communication skills in managing stakeholders, framing value propositions, and influencing strategic decisions

· Adaptive mindset allowing for responsiveness to evolving customer needs, market conditions, and technology trends

Valuations and Modelling work provides the opportunity for a variety of assignments, predominantly office/home office-based; from an assignment that lasts a couple of days to very large assignments working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. As no two projects are the same, the work requires a high level of adaptability, flexibility and innovation.

Valuations and Modelling

In Valuations you will support clients in understanding the value of their business and shareholdings as well as intangible assets often in the context of a transaction, strategic/investment decision or to support a financial reporting or tax estimate.

Business modelling is regarded by many organisations as an integral and essential part of the decision making process. The Business Modelling team brings specialist expertise to the process of developing complex models for business planning and forecasting, transactions (corporate finance and project finance), decision support, risk analysis and business information. We also provide independent assurance for banks and other model users by reviewing financial, strategic and operational models built by our clients.

What will I be doing

Typical activities include the following:

Technical skills requirements

  • Ideally you will have an accounting qualification - CA or equivalent; a sound grasp of Irish GAAP and/or IFRS and financial accounting, combined with a high level of business awareness and a strong understanding of the factors that drive financial performance
  • Highly numerate with a sound grasp of Excel and a natural interest in using it to help clients to better understand their business or to make better business decisions
  • A track record in valuations and/or financial modelling, experience of working in a professional services environment, and exposure to high profile transactions, would all be a distinct advantage
  • Familiarity with key valuation methodology and approaches and/or the ability to develop or formally review financial models is a pre-requisite
  • Additional technical skills such as Visual Basis or SQL and other programming languages would be an advantage

Additional skills requirements

  • Qualified with ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification
  • 3 years relevant experience
  • Minimum 2.1 degree, numeric subjects preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and client focus are important, as well as attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure

Your key responsibilities

  • Design and implement overall infrastructure architecture to support SAP systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Develop hybrid infrastructure solutions that integrate cloud and on-premise environments, taking into account scalability and high availability.
  • Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of SAP landscapes, including Transport management and environment setup.
  • Manage patching and upgrades for SAP components (SAP Kernel, NetWeaver, Support Packages, Enhancement Packages, including Security patches).
  • Conduct database administration and performance tuning to ensure efficient operation of SAP systems.
  • Implement system monitoring and performance optimization strategies to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
  • Set up, configure, and manage SAP landscapes, including Development, Quality, and Production environments.
  • Design and deploy SAP environments on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, and manage hybrid cloud setups effectively.
  • Leverage SAP Cloud Platform, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), or third-party cloud services for efficient infrastructure management.
  • Provide security support with user identity management, including provisioning, access control, and role design.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of infrastructure solutions with business objectives.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in SAP infrastructure and cloud services.

Skills and attributes for success

  • To be considered for this role you must proven experience in designing infrastructure architectures for SAP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Experience with SAP landscape setup, configuration, and management.
  • Familiarity with SAP Cloud Platform and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Australian citizenship, which enable the ability to obtain baseline security clearnace to work with our clients.

  • SAP certification in relevant areas.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation.

Typical activities will include the following:

  • Our Transaction Diligence team aims to assist clients throughout the transaction process and works closely with other specialists both within SaT and other Service Lines. Whilst traditional financial due diligence is a key element of our work, we also seek to understand the strategic rationale for the transaction and look to incorporate technology tools and data analytics into our work.
  • Typically, you'll analyse the financial and operational results of companies targeted for sale by reviewing financial information and participating in interviews with management.
  • Based on understanding the key business drivers, prepare and review analyses of historical and pro forma financial information to assess trends and fluctuations that may impact funding requirements and deal valuation
  • Project manage teams and work closely with all members as well as forming strong internal links within SaT and other departments in EY both in the Ireland and internationally to form multi-disciplinary teams
  • Connect with specialists in researching technical accounting issues to evaluate implications on transaction valuation and structuring and communicate accordingly with clients
  • Plan, prepare and lead a significant portion of the preparation of client deliverables including excel databook analysis, reports, presentations and discussion packs
  • Lead presentations and interactions with the clients and key stakeholders on projects
  • Play a role in business planning initiatives (e.g. key accounts, recruitment, client service framework)
  • Work effectively as a team member by demonstrating your commitment to quality, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior management members on progress.
  • Help to create a positive learning culture for junior team members and support their development. And as part of your role in the wider team, you’ll have a role to play in other team initiatives – for example, account management, target client research and recruitment

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Strong academic record including a degree in Business / Commerce or equivalent qualification
  • ACA / ACCA qualified Current experience working in a transaction financial due diligence role at a manager level
  • Ability to attend the Dublin EY office a number of days a week

  • Demonstrate a keen interest and high level of curiosity
