Commercial Controller - Manager

Key responsibilities:

  • Displays deep understanding of the contract commercial business case.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Presales / Pursuit Architecture & Solutioning for mid to large scale pursuits
  • Provide thought leadership of a Technology Presales Architect with the service line pursuit /business teams during deal development, pursuit & close phases.
  • Having deep understanding of SAP Technology and EY’s SAP drivers, products, tools & processes to stitch the right solution that delivers value add for the client
  • Establish Presales standards, guidelines and procedures to overall increase the success rate of client pursuits for EY overall (and the EY SAP alliance particularly)
  • Hands on in supporting E2E solution architecture with an alignment with overall EA and IT Roadmap of specific clients.

  • Knowledge of the SAP Ariba Supplier Network Procurement components and SRM integration capabilities
  • Detailed and specific knowledge of OpenText Vendor Invoice Management for SAP Solutions (VIM)
  • Significant experience of delivering operational IT support services in a highly integrated, multi-application environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong management background with the ability to manage demanding customers and challenging suppliers fairly and effectively
  • Management of service delivery performance and compliance through agreed metrics and Service levels
  • Ability to communicate effectively across a complex and diverse group of stakeholders
  • Deep and practical ITILv3 knowledge and experience
  • Strong service management experience with good awareness of ITILv3
  • SAP Functional Certification is preferred.

  • Work closely with other EY teams (business and IT) and across the vendor ecosystem to ensure that business events deployment is optimally planned alongside with release, deployment, and environments changes activities.
  • Provide escalation point and give focus to addressing issues across multiple outsourced service providers.
  • Hold regular, formal, and ad hoc reviews on performance of in scope services and gather business perception / satisfaction levels.
  • Identify and facilitate delivery of service delivery improvements.
  • Follow up and control production deployment ensuring all the teams impacted are aware and get the proper coordination.

Commercial Controller - Manager

The Commercial Controller will be aligned to one of our high-profile engagements and managing contract from a commercial, financial and engagement perspective and will assist the engagement leadership/stakeholders to deliver the deal finances and contractual requirements for the deal. You should be commercially minded and have finance and engagement management experience. It is equally important that you can coach and develop junior members of the team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Displays deep understanding of the contract commercial business case.
  • Single point of contact on Commercials for Client/Engagement Partner/Tax Account Lead and Tax Leadership.
  • Drive and activate contract commercial clauses, providing early visibility of non-compliance.
  • Build visibility of global engagement financials & drive commercial governance with Tax Leadership, Engagement Partner, Delivery lead etc.
  • Report financial variances to plan, supported by root-cause analysis and recommend how to manage risks/ realise opportunities.
  • Support renewal of contracts.
  • Lead and deploy trained Commercial Operations team, in compliance with the established standards and QRM requirements.
  • Review deliverables of Commercial Operations (Internal Contracting, Change Requests Scope & Fee, Estimate to Complete, Billings, Reporting, Pricing plans etc.

To qualify for the role, you must have/be:

  • Able to build relationships with the Leadership team and ability to influence key stakeholders.
  • Self-assured and can bring fresh insight to business problems.
  • Proactive self-starter who demonstrates business acumen through understanding and prioritising business challenges.
  • Able to shape new solutions, implement best practise and processes to optimise the deal’s financial performance.
  • Proven track record of creating and maintaining robust financial and operational models, demonstrating your proficiency in data analysis and presentation.
  • Experience of managing budgeting and forecasting process from start to finish.
  • Experience of managing month-end reporting with variance analysis while ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all financial deliverables.
  • Experience of ownership of cashflow reporting and management.
  • Proficient in managing projects with complex billing structures and interdependencies.
  • As a minimum, understanding of P&L concept and its different elements.
  • Robust understanding of financial and commercial drivers and interdependencies.
  • Flexible to meet changing needs.
  • Desire to share knowledge and enhance the skills of less experienced team members.

Desired experiences:

  • Project Management Skills to deliver positive outcomes in short timelines.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting/commerce/Tax and Master’s in business administration.
  • Team handling skills. Managed a team size of 2-3 people at least.
  • 10-15 Years of overall experience.
