Job purpose
As a Tax Trainee, you will work on various tax engagements in different industry sectors in which EY is acknowledged as a market leader, specifically in financial services, energy & utilities, oil & gas, mining & metals, telecommunications, industrial products, automotive, retail and consumer products, real estate, etc.
Your client responsibilities
Prepare various tax returns and supporting schedules and assist with the filing of the returns
Prepare tax advice for clients and assist with the procurement of tax exemptions and waivers
Assist with the provision of accounting, bookkeeping and payroll services to clients
Liaise with the GRA and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients
Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel
Comply with risk management procedures

Display a positive attitude to work and demonstrate a willingness to learn
Qualifications
First degree holder from a recognised Tertiary Institution;
Hold a Second Class Upper or better;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (other language is a plus);
Proficient IT skills (Word, Excel, Power Point);
A student member or affiliate of the ICAG/ACCA OR a high motivation and drive to pursue a professional accountant qualification. Membership of ICAG/ACCA is an advantage.

IT Audit
Working in a team, you will interact with the client to collect all necessary data/ information, obtain an understanding of their IT environments, IT risks and controls, and cyber security profiles. You will test their controls against their policies and/or leading practice, evaluate the effectiveness of their control environments and recommend improvements.
Data Analytics
Working in a team, you will work with the data analytics team and perform extraction, loading and transformation of client data to provide quality assurance of the data for audit purposes. Also, you will use automated tools to perform data analytics of client primary and secondary data sets and provide client insight as well as meeting general audit requirements.
