As a tax controversy- green levy focussed professional, you’ll be helping clients manage tax disputes to resolution, supporting with proactive authorities engagement, and Business Risk Review+ discussions, playing a key part in the evaluation and mitigation of tax and environmental risks. The role is predominantly EU and Cyprus specific tax focussed and experience working with multi-million pound organisations will be a critical component to your success.
Our professionals are required to deal directly with clients, but also with the environmental, tax and customs authorities on behalf of our clients, thus developing both their client relationship and technical skills, as well as their business acumen in relation to tax disputes, sustainability, green levies, customs, environmental taxes, global trade and shipping.

Associates/Senior Consultants
Receive professional training on the job to become a fully qualified advisor
Advise and manage green tax – revenue dispute matters for clients operating in various industries in Cyprus and across the EU
Work on challenging projects, such as due diligence projects for the environmental tax - disputes evaluation of businesses, sustainability pricing optimisation and planning projects, diagnostic reviews and audits
Liaising and consulting with Cyprus and EU environmental, tax, shipping and customs authorities
Interact and appear before EU bodies including EU Commission, Directorate Generates, IMO, EU Courts and responsible Ministries
Prepare advisory opinions and facilitate compliance on the green tax - controversy resolution treatment of transactions performed by organisations
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the delivery of tax controversy projects, guaranteeing technical and commercial excellence supported by an experienced senior team
Day-to-day client liaison and wider tax team co-ordination in relation to engagements
Drive activities to achieve effective tax outcomes and certainty for our clients
Provide exceptional advisory services on a broad range of green tax issues
Advise on technical environmental tax issues and provide support to client service teams
Become the day-to-day contact for allocated clients and provide innovative environmental tax solutions that add value to clients
Work closely with senior team members who will support and assist you in reaching your full potential
Demonstrate an understanding and the ability to discuss increasingly complex concepts with team members and clients
Thoroughly and accurately analyse complex information and contribute in making quality decisions in complex and judgmental areas
Contribute towards achieving team goals and support in the development of recommendations and implementation plans
Participation in client workshops, international conferences, high profile institutional meetings and educational – indirect tax go to market initiatives
Skills and Attributes for Success:
Strong Academic Credentials
Holding or Studying for a Bachelor or Masters Degree in Tax, Law, EU, Environmental Studies, Business, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Applied Sciences or flexible equivalent;
Fluent in the Greek and English language;
Knowledge of another language will be favourably considered especially French;
Motivated to start a career in Sustainability Taxes – Tax Disputes within a growing Department offering global opportunities of work;
Experience in Taxation and partial qualification in professional courses (e.g. LPC,BPTC, Cyprus Advocate Qualification, ACCA, ICAEW, CPA, ADIT, ATT, CTA) will be also considered.
Previous tax controversy/EU/environmental/administrative law experience preferred, but not essential
Proven ability to analyse and interpret existing and new tax – environmental statute and deliver quality output
A keen interest in ongoing learning, innovation, public speaking e.g. using technology and AI tools to improve processes

Focus on M&A transactions with the following responsibilities:
Research and analysis of key value drivers at a market and business level. Understand, analyse and present a client’s existing/proposed business, identify key strengths and weaknesses, document key findings.

Effective written and verbal communication. Experience in business writing and the production of transaction materials.
Ability to work under strict deadlines.
Qualified or in an advanced process of becoming qualified ACA, ACCA, CFA or equivalent professional qualification (e.g. MBA) will be considered an advantage.
Experience in building financial models and valuing businesses (using various methodologies, mainly DCF, precedent transactions and traded comparable companies) will also be considered an advantage
