Your key responsibilities

  • Manage and participate in SPA advisory engagements for acquisitions or disposals by private equity investors, funds, or strategic corporate clients. This includes working closely with clients, their bankers, and legal advisers, and performing tasks such as cash, debt, and working capital analysis, pricing schedule preparation, and financial reviews of the SPA and Completion Accounts.
  • Advise clients on transaction mechanisms and financial analysis by providing insights on the most suitable purchase price mechanisms, analysing financial results through diligence findings and interviews, and supporting negotiations with clients to agree on detailed and compelling outputs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal contacts and external clients to develop a portfolio of high-value projects, and collaborate with other EY service teams to deliver an integrated approach to clients.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Possess a bachelor or master degree in accounting, business, finance, or economics, and be a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, CAANZ, or an international equivalent.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in a professional services or chartered accounting environment, or in a financial performance and analysis or mergers & acquisitions role at a corporate organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly develop, build, and manage relationships with multiple clients and teams, both external and internal. Experience working with senior stakeholders on multiple engagements in a Transaction Diligence role or mergers and acquisitions environment.
  • A keen interest in understanding businesses, transactions, and deal value drivers. Passion for client service excellence, attention to detail, and the ability to grasp complex issues and explain them clearly to non-accountants.

Pricing and Commercials Lead

As our Pricing Lead you’ll lead the development of robust financial analysis and support pricing development for large, complex pursuits.

Your key responsibilities

  • Support EY teams develop a compelling commercial value propositions while maintaining profitability and risk standards.
  • Articulate the expected financial performance of a strategic engagement.
  • Contribute to the development of people, capability, reusable tools and pricing assets, and the embedding of commercial best practice, processes, knowledge and behaviours within EY.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Bachelor’s degree in a numerical field (Accounting / Statistics / engineering etc.)
  • 5+ years of working in a professional services firm, technology consulting firm, corporate development, finance operations or investment banking
  • 2 + years providing costing and pricing services (preferably including experience in Managed Services and outcome-based pricing).
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and client service skills.
  • Collaboration skills; working effectively with groups across all levels in EY

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
  • Fact driven and analytically minded with excellent attention to details
  • Hands-on experience with data engineering tasks such as building analytical data records and experience manipulating and analysing large volumes of data
  • Relevant work experience of minimum 15 to 17 years in a big 4 or technology/ consulting set up
  • Help incubate new finance analytic products by executing Pilot, Proof of Concept projects to establish capabilities and credibility with users and clients. This may entail working either as an independent SME or as part of a larger team

Ideally, you’ll also have

Ability to think strategically/end-to-end with result-oriented mindset

  • Ability to build rapport within the firm and win the trust of the clients
  • Willingness to travel extensively and to work on client sites / practice office locations
  • Strong experience in SQL server and MS Excel plus atleast one other SQL dialect e.g. MS Access\Postgresql\Oracle PLSQL\MySQLStrong in Data Structures & Algorithm
