  • Ability to apply ingenuity and creativity to problem analysis and resolution for complicated and/or unique situations

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels

  • Risk management mindset. Experience in assessing, documenting and managing business risk as part of a product organisation.

  • Ability to work as part of a team, with a high degree of collaboration with cross functional teams

  • Fluency in Swiss German preferred

The Financial Institutions Zürich-based Director level banker position is responsible for accomplishing results by providing Swiss-based clients with seamless coverage across the full suite of Citi products (across Banking, Markets and Services), deliver corporate finance and capital raising advice in close coordination with product and sector specialists. The overall objective of this role is to deliver Citi’s solutions and geographic breadth to public sector and private clients, as well as support the management of the Swiss FIG franchises from a risk, capital, control and governance perspective.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall parent client relationship management. Provide a wide range of treasury and corporate finance solutions, including cash management, custody, trade, FX/rate/equity derivatives, loan and bond capital market advice.
  • Drive client planning, product-agnostic cross-selling, enhance client access and effectively manage capital allocation within the Banking & International Coverage Banker proposition
  • Translate Citi’s strategy into an effective and efficient Corporate Bank business plan and drive a healthy balance between near- and long-term priorities
  • Responsible for meeting revenue and other goals related to budget, risk management, and capital in partnership with Global Capital Management, Institutional Client Management and Risk; Manage and optimise capital and RWA utilisation across all aspects of the client relationships
  • Understand global, regional and local market trends to identify growth opportunities, anticipate obstacles and communicate a forward-looking vision that is responsive to changes in the environment
  • Drive innovation, speed to market, create corporate finance content to deliver value-added, differentiated advice
  • Work in partnership with Investment Banking and seniors to originate and execute episodic transactions delivering to the client support across all financing, risk management and treasury aspects of the contemplated transactions.
  • Drive Network penetration across products for clients that have international needs
  • Ensure client relationships and proposed client solutions meet or exceed internal risk and return expectations, allocate capital prudently and in adherence to all Citi policies
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating clear consideration for safeguarding Citi and its reputation by complying with all applicable laws, rules, regulations and policy.
  • Apply sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices; escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervising the activity of others and creating accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in people management
  • Senior Credit Officer preferred
  • In-depth experience advising clients on debt and capital management

  • Expertise in Data Privacy/Protection, Outsourcing, Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence would be an advantage

  • Experience in Private Banking related issues, preferably in an international environment, would be an advantage

  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a demanding, fast-paced environment

  • Comprehensive knowledge of international, multi-jurisdictional laws and practices while staying abreast of regulatory and legal environment, internal policies and industry trends that impact the business
