This role sits within the newly formed GenAI Security team, which is responsible for ensuring, maintaining, and improving the security of our GenAi Prompt security capabilities within the firm. You will have the opportunity to partner with key Engineering teams, alongside Operations and Site Reliability Engineering.

What the role covers:

  • Designing, developing, optimizing, and enhancing a GenAI prompt security platform to protect firm AI/LLM-based applications from adversarial attacks and prompt injections.

Description:

Product Control Analyst

Product Control, the largest department in Finance, is primarily responsible for controlling daily profit and loss reporting, price verification and trading activity for the Institutional Clients Group. We work closely across functions on a daily basis (including the Trading desks, Risk Management, Operations, and other areas of Finance) and develop a deep understanding of the products traded, along with the associated market risks and accounting complexities.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the end-to-end Product Control process, including daily P&L preparation and related activities: Review and analyse new trades, associated risks and the P&L generated, also understand and analyse the P&L coming from market moves on the existing portfolio of trades.
  • Perform Independent Price Verification (IPV), calculate or validate Valuation Adjustments, and perform Fair Value Levelling (to classify the inventory in scope by observability of the external inputs used for price verification)
  • Work closely with various areas of the Finance department, liaising with the Trading Desk, Risk Management, Operations, Middle Office and IT teams
  • Use effective escalation to ensure issues are highlighted in a timely manner. Focus on recurring issues and drive through enhancement projects and systems fixes
  • Support standardization efforts and work on strategic as well as ad-hoc projects to improve Citi’s Product Control system infrastructure and to implement process improvement ideas

Ideal background:

  • A university or college degree in Finance/Accounting is an advantage but not a must as we are open to other majors.
  • Good command of spoken and written English
  • Confident analytical and communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills. (Training will be provided on other in-house and industry standard systems used in this position.)
  • Knowledge of or demonstrated interest in financial products is an advantage.

  • Ability to write efficient SQL queries.
  • Know how to read/write to database systems, such as SQL, Bigdata.
  • Experience in building intuitive reports and dashboards using tools like Tableau, QlikView, etc. Experience with UX/UI design is a plus but not necessary.
  • Experience with the ETL processes and Task/Job Schedulers (Airflow) and ability to troubleshoot technical issues on your own.
  • Comfortable with performing data investigations that require a high degree of accuracy with tight timescales.
  • Knowledge of project tracking software like JIRA will be an advantage.

What you’ll do:

The role the team is filling would be responsible for leading the model development and implementation for a multitude of economic risk capital models covering risk stripes including trading and banking book portfolios, particularly covering wholesale credit risk, counterparty credit risk, and interest rate risk for banking book. The qualified candidate would maintain the existing risk capital models, review and enhance model methodologies, support business and production process, perform model performance assessment, improve model documents, and provide explanations to model output as the subject matter expert to business, model validator, and risk managers. The new team member would also help to maintain and improve the model implementation.

  • Develop, implement, and test model methodology changes upon requests from model sponsor, model validators, or driven by self-identified model limitations. Identifies opportunities and advocate innovative idea for improving risk capital models in general.

  • Manages model risk across the model life-cycle including model validation, ongoing performance evaluation, and annual model reviews. Assess and quantifies model risk due to model limitations and develop compensating controls.

  • Monitor production process and identify key risk drivers. Produces analytics and develop tools for loss explanations.

  • Develop analytic engines for model implementation, support production process, and respond to business ad hoc requests.

  • Manages stakeholder interaction with model sponsor, model validators, and business owners.

What we’ll need from you:

  • 3-5 years’ relevant experience in financial industry or equivalent research experience in hard science fields MSc or PhD required.

  • Strong mathematical knowledge in statistics, econometrics, and other related quantitative fields – necessary.

  • Solid understanding to risk metrics, quantitative finance, and risk management practice.

  • Experience in a quantitative role in risk management at a financial institution with experience in either model development or validation.

  • Strong programming skills in Python, R or C++.

  • Experience with database and SQL is preferable.

  • Self-motivated and detail oriented

  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills and capability to handle multiple projects at one time.
