Description:

You will

the primary technical interface to the Manufacturing Partner site and is accountable for driving both Operational Excellence (Delivery, Quality, and Cost) and Factory Excellence (capability, efficiency, security and sustainability). This position leads a team of Engineers in one or several of the following fields: Test/Software Development, Electrical, Mechanical and Manufacturing, to drive product quality in the factory. Position requires strong knowledge on Test infrastructure, PCBA manufacturing operations, and SMT technology roadmap. This leadership position works with the Director of Regional Operations.

Your impact

• Responsible for leading manufacturing execution excellence and customer experience through operational performance on delivery, quality, cost and transformation.

• Ensure the EMS Partners sites have the outstanding Quality Management System (QMS) deployed throughout their operation.

• Lead operational excellence metrics ETE Yield, timely Delivery, CT2R, NMS budget, etc. and accountable for associated business results.

• Accountable to solve any factory related quality issues and to handle line alert and line stop situation.

• Drive cycle time reduction, test optimizations, and quality improvement to meet and improve cost and product lead time.

• Support the enablement of new manufacturing nodes from the manufacturing and test perspective.

• Partners with various cross-functional organizations including Product Operations, Supplier Management, Planning, Fulfillment, Technology and Quality to drive business outcomes.

• Drive qualification of SMT lines for next gen PCBA technologies, BGA, edge bonding, large press fit connectors, and process characterizations.

• Builds strong organization with leadership bench strength, capabilities for the future, engagement.

• Focus on Supply Chain innovation through process, tools and test reengineering and implementation.

Minimum Qualifications

• 15+ years of broad Supply Chain Electronics Technical Operations experience in Test Development Engineering or Manufacturing Process experience. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field required.

• 3+ years of personnel management experience, leadership role in Supply Chain and Team Development.

• Strong knowledge and experience in Functional Test and/or PCBA SMT operations and factory management. Develop solutions to complex problems and implement short / long term technical strategies.

• Extensive Project Management knowledge with ability to influence to all levels and build trust to achieve a shared vision and drive accountability.

• English and Spanish language proficient

Preferred Qualifications

• Programming knowledge, Python, SQL, Impala, and understanding of Design For Test (DFT).

• Demonstrated Statistical Analysis knowledge.

• Ability to self-motivate with a strong desire to learn and ability to be flexible.

• Strong leadership and communication to collaborate and connect people

• Master of Science in Business a plus.

Your Impact

As the Technical Leader you will provide new product and ongoing engineering (including DFM/DFA/DFC/DFFS) for a specific product or group of products from pre-concept commit through EOL. For new products, you will collaborate with design (hardware and mechanical), process, test, and reliability engineering to address problems and ensure cost avoidance and quality at FCS. For sustaining products, you will focus on cost reduction and design related yield improvements.

  • He /she reviews, provides input for the design & architecture from DFM , Component technology used , EOL etc and influences the design team for optimum selection.
  • During NPI’s they should provide all technical support required for Proto builds and ensures cost, Quality and delivery targets are met.
  • During sustenance, need to handle change management activities & also need to work towards meeting factory and field Quality metrics.
  • Drives Value Engineering activities to improve the cost margins during the product life cycle.
  • Provides Supply chain continuity & Resiliency support.
Minimum Qualifications For This Role
  • BS and 15+ years of work experience as product or design engineer.
  • Excellent understanding on Electronic product design and architecture.
  • Knowledge of PCB design , Stack ups and Allegro.
  • Knowledge of Valor and DFM is a Plus . Knowledge of PCBA Manufacturing, System Build and NPI process.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new processes and design rules for new components as needed.
  • Good understanding of Hardware interfaces – High speed serial interfaces , PCIE , Ethernet , SATA , I2C etc.
  • Design lab experimentation / debug (proficiency continuum) / DOE /EFA.
  • Technical lifecycle management (defect reduction team participation, new component qualification, etc).
  • Assessing CM and supply chain technical capability gaps.

Your Impact

The Manufacturing Engineer is the primary technical interface to the Manufacturing Partner site and is accountable for driving both Operational Excellence (Delivery, Quality, and Cost) and Factory Excellence (capability, efficiency, security and sustainability). Position requires validated understanding on PCBA manufacturing operations and SMT technology roadmap.

Supports manufacturing engineering functions at the manufacturing sites including:
  • Lead daily support of our products and tools in manufacturing.
  • Support NPI launch and govern sustaining products within manufacturing partners.
  • Support product transfers between manufacturing sites.
  • Analyze various sets of data and programs for quality & process control.
  • Drive process optimization, yield improvements and process consistency within manufacturing sites.
  • Provides technical support for all systemic defects, line stops, material purges and quality issues.
  • Factory site technical quality metrics ownership and driving metrics improvement relating to structural test.
  • Govern ECO and deviation implementation during bom change or fab respin.
  • Reviewed and validated SoP documents and SPC specifications (Yield, Cpk, GR&R) during phase gate transitions and on a periodic basis for sustaining production.
  • Conduct audits of factory processes.
  • Provide oversight during critical production stages.
  • Keep close loop with Product Operations central team.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a BS/MS in IE/EE/ME with 10+ years of experience in the electronics manufacturing industry and Quality systems.
  • Manufacturing process knowledge, PCBA manufacturing End to End process and Functional Test including Quality Management systems and analysis tools.
  • Engineering Management experience leading technical teams inspiring change in collaboration with a diverse cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication , written & verbal (in English) to clearly synthesize and reduce complex situations on simple descriptions to communicate with internal and external partners.
  • Data driven thinking with clarity in documenting issues. Persistence in following up on root cause analysis & corrective actions by responsible parties.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient on statistical methods and Quality analysis tools (SPC, DOEs, 8Ds, DMAIC, AQL) used in a Manufacturing context.
  • Ability to self-motivate with a strong desire to learn and ability to be flexible.
  • You feel comfortable working under high pressure and get results with limited oversight.
  • Confirmed Program Management skills and experience.
