About the role - Senior Lead Software Engineer

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer, you will:

• Go deep into our product and engineering solutions with the ability to learn quickly and lead innovative solutions to complex technical problems
• Champion the adoption of enterprise tech standards and architecture patterns. Advocate for open source, and internal re-use while maintaining knowledge on industry innovations, trends and practices to curate a continual stream of incubated projects and create rapid product prototypes
• Continuously improve the engineering culture by being engaged in recruitment and participating in community activities, conducting training, authoring blog posts, filing patents etc. Participate in technology events to support brand awareness of the organization and to attract top talent.
• Be the guiding force for stakeholders in design and architecture discussions, helping the engineering teams make key technology choices, and staying associated with the use case through its development lifecycle
• Effectively communicate with and influence key stakeholders across the enterprise at all levels of the organization. Proven collaborator and have the ability to build very strong partnerships with others to gain the trust and confidence of those around them, from hands on engineers to executives

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
• Atleast 10 years of professional software engineering experience (internship experience does not apply)
• Atleast 5 years of experience in building software using at least 1 of the following: Golang, Java, Python, React (TypeScript), Rust, C++
• Atleast 3 years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
• Atleast 1 year of experience with Big Data, Data Security, Data Management, Governance and Controls

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Computer Science
• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience (internship experience does not apply)
• 8+ years experience in building a product from the ground up
• History of building patent worthy solutions
• 5+ years of experience in distributed microservices
• 7+ years of experience in building software using at least 2 of the following: Golang, Java, Python, React (TypeScript), Rust, C++
• 4+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams autonomously to prepare detailed plans for projects, determine resource allocation, deliverable timelines, and possible issues, while developing deep business acumen

As a Senior Lead (Software Engineering), you will design and oversee the high-level design and functionality of software systems, ensuring they meet business functional requirements and technical non-functional specifications. Collaborate with stakeholders, developers and architects to create blueprints, choose technologies and set coding standards, while also providing guidance and support throughout the development lifecycle.

Develops architectural blueprints, conceptual models, and designs for software systems, ensuring they meet business needs and technical requirements. Proactively identify technical debt and develop design and approach to mitigate and resolve them in a timely manner.

Makes decisions about the technologies, frameworks, libraries and tools to be used in a project. Evaluates and helps conclude across internal and external choices.

Works closely with product and engineering stakeholders to define requirements and ensure alignment throughout the project. Helps quantify the risk and impact of existing technical debt and prioritise resolving and mitigating them in a timely manner.

Creates technical documentation to ensure the project is well-defined and understood by all stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications

Deep Technical Knowledge
Extensive experience in software development across transactional and big data systems with a foundational understanding of various technologies and methodologies. Comfortable with multiple programming languages and paradigms, familiarity with relational and NoSQL data stores, streaming technology.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues.

Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Project Management
Familiarity with project management methodologies and techniques, including Agile and Scrum.

• At least 10 years of professional software engineering experience (internship experience does not apply)
