Job Purpose:

The Senior Regulatory Affairs (RA) Specialist is responsible for activities which lead to and maintain regulatory approval to market devices. Additionally, the Senior RA Specialist is responsible for assessment of device changes for regulatory implications.
This is a hybrid position (in office minimum three days per week) with the flexibility to be located in Cork, Galway or Clonmel. You will have the opportunity to discuss your preferred working location with your Talent Acquisition Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop US, EU and international regulatory strategies for approval of medical devices
• Coordinate, compile, and submit U.S. and EU regulatory filings for new and modified products
• Support requests from BSC International Regulatory personnel related to submissions, registrations, and change assessments
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with regulatory body reviewers
• Review Technical and Labelling documentation for inclusion in regulatory filings
• Review product and manufacturing changes for compliance with applicable regulations and impact to regulatory filings
• Represent RA on cross functional projects which may include product development, sustaining changes, and continuous improvement efforts
• Review clinical study protocols and other clinical documentation, and assess clinical study related changes to determine regulatory impact
• Support regulatory audits, as required
• In all actions, demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures

Required:

• A minimum of a Level 8 Honours Bachelor's Degree in STEM
• A minimum of 5 years of regulatory affairs or related experience
• Demonstrated experience assessing product and manufacturing changes for compliance with applicable regulations and impact to regulatory filings
• Demonstrated experience authoring/supporting a variety of regulatory submissions for US and EU, such as 510(k)s and MDR Technical Documentation
• Basic computer skills, including experience with the software applications Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat

Your responsibilities will include:

• The Field Clinical Representative will cultivate a customer base, continuously prospect for new customers, act on leads and persuasively position our commercially approved products and services versus competitors. Drive sales revenue to achieve territory objectives.
• Develop key relationships with functional neurosurgeons, movement disorder clinicians, technicians, nurses and patients.

• Lead local Health Care Provider training on device technology and device programming capability. Support academic center journal clubs and Allied Health Practitioner skill development.

• You’ll have responsibility for defining and developing new business opportunities within a defined geographic territory.
• You will introduce innovative technology to functional neurosurgeons and to movement disorder neurologists.
• You’ll help Boston Scientific connect to Parkinson’s Disease patient advocates and to patient education groups.
• You will also assess local competitive conditions in order to help Boston Scientific create access to our novel technology for patients in need.
• This position is a field-based sales position within the assigned territory. You will be in daily collaboration with other local Field Clinical Representatives, Therapy Consultants, and the Regional Business Director in your area.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree; Minimum of 2 years sales/clinical experience, DBS preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Medical device sales and/or clinical education experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Biology, Kinesiology or other related science field.
• Experience with functional neurosurgeons, Parkinson’s Disease, movement disorders, physical therapy, registered nurse, surgical technician, or similar field.

The anticipated annualized base amount or range for this full time position will be, plus variable compensation governed by the Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives) as well as the value of core and optional benefits offered at BSC, which can be reviewed at www.bscbenefitsconnect.com. The Talent Development Specialist I will focus on coordinating and supporting key talent development initiatives, with a primary emphasis on the Cork site but also contributing to broader talent management efforts across the Ireland region. This ro will support new hire induction, manage cohorts in the GROW program, and assist in the administration of the IDA Training Grant, while aligning with the regional talent management strategy.

Key Focus Areas

• New Hire Induction: Coordinate and support the new employee onboarding process for the Cork site, ensuring consistency in the experience while aligning with Ireland-wide talent management standards.
• GROW Program Coordination: Provide support for the GROW program by managing logistical details, coordinating cohorts, and assisting in the planning and delivery of development activities.
• IDA Training Grant Administration: Assist with the administration of the IDA Training Grant, ensuring compliance and effective use of resources in line with regional and site-specific goals.
• Ireland Region Talent Management Initiatives: Collaborate with the regional Ireland Talent Management structure to support initiatives that enhance organizational development across multiple sites, with a focus on Cork but extending to the broader Ireland talent agenda.
• Coordinate and provide support for early talent and leadership development strategies, ensuring alignment with regional business objectives.
• Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of professional, technical, and compliance training needs through internal and external training providers.
• Support the communication and promotion of learning and development initiatives, helping to engage employees and managers in Cork and the wider Ireland region.
• Administer the Learning Management System (LMS) for professional development, ensuring compliance with site and regional procedures.
• Support the development of training content, collaborating with subject matter experts and external vendors to ensure quality and cost-effective learning solutions.
• Maintain and update learning and development communication channels to drive participation in Ireland-wide initiatives, improving accessibility and engagement.
• Manage and maintain training records, assist with audits, and provide data-driven insights to inform learning strategies and support business reviews.
• Facilitate learning programs and contribute to the design and delivery of content tailored to the needs of the Cork site and Ireland region.
• Collaborate with external training providers and stakeholders, exploring innovative development opportunities that align with the regional strategy.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree (Level 8, 240 credits) in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Learning & Development or related HR support role.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and proficient in My Learning or similar platforms.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and coordination skills, with a demonstrated ability to work across sites.
• Experience in working with regional or multi-site learning and development.
