Job Overview:

Arm is seeking a proactive and diligent Compliance Manager to lead and scale our compliance and quality assurance function within the Data Center Engineering organization. In this role, you will not only architect the framework that ensures alignment with certifications and regulatory requirements, but also build and lead a high-performing team focused on operational perfection.

You will serve as a strategic partner to lab operations, systems engineering, facilities, and security teams—translating regulatory and quality requirements into practical, scalable standards for our high-performance computing infrastructure. This is a key leadership position with broad influence over risk management, audit readiness, documentation, and process standardization.

Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Team Development: Build and lead a compliance team, setting priorities, coaching talent, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Operational Compliance Program Ownership: Define and implement operational compliance programs across high-performance computing labs, including standards for equipment use, maintenance practices, labeling, and process governance.
  • Global Trade & Export Control Oversight: Establish and retain controls related to international shipments, export classifications, technology transfer compliance, and interactions with global partners. Ensure alignment to ITAR, EAR, and other relevant regimes while maintaining program agility and speed.
  • Business Continuity & Risk Mitigation: Develop and maintain business continuity plans for critical lab and infrastructure operations, ensuring resilience and recovery planning is in place for hardware, power, cooling, and related dependencies.
  • Internal Policy Alignment: Ensure team activities align with broader Arm-wide compliance requirements, including supplier management, health and safety, environmental guidelines, and ethics-related protocols.
  • Documentation & Audits: Oversee process documentation, version control, labeling standards, and compliance runbooks. Prepare for internal reviews and external audits where required.
  • multi-functional Engagement: Act as an extension engineering, lab operations, legal, facilities, and leadership to set shared goal and embed compliance into the development and execution lifecycle.
  • Supervise changes in applicable laws, export controls, and Arm corporate policy—driving updates to procedures and communicating changes across partners.
  • Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Create dashboards, reports, and executive updates to supervise compliance posture, identify gaps, and deliver actionable improvements.
Required Skills and Experience :
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Operations, Compliance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Experience leading compliance or governance programs in an R&D, hardware, technical environment.
  • Solid understanding of export compliance frameworks (e.g., EAR, ITAR), trade documentation, and shipping practices for technical equipment.
  • Familiarity with business continuity planning, risk assessment methodologies, and interpersonal readiness practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience leading people, setting priorities, and developing team capability.
  • Comfortable with fast paced environment that is rapidly developing and changing.
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :
  • Experience in a regulated global enterprise or high-complexity supply chain environment.
  • Familiarity with technical documentation control systems and compliance platforms.
  • Understanding of lab infrastructure operations, including equipment lifecycle, labeling, inventory tracking, and facility standards.

  • Experience with GNU or LLVM toolchains and cross-compilation.
  • Deep knowledge of one or more of the following: bootloaders, device drivers, kernel internals, power management, or secure firmware.
  • Hands-on experience with multicore systems and cache-coherency concepts.
  • Clear written and spoken English and a collaborative, inclusive communication style.
  • Self-starter who can work both independently and across distributed teams.

  • Participate in multi-functional meetings related to data center capacity, buildout and future availability.
  • Participate in customer and prospective customer meetings to understand hardware compatibility requirements with facility engineering and capacity.
  • Ability to create typical details, plan and elevation views of electrical and mechanical designs in white spaces and perform site adaptation of typical designs to site specific requirements.
  • Coordinate external MEP firms’ work and third party equipment engineering engagements
  • Perform mentoring and staff development.
Required Skills and Experience :
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 6 - 10 years of experience as a project engineer at a MEP firm, AE firm or equivalent construction company role.
  • Professional Engineers license (not required for stamping/sealing purposes)
  • Experience performing load calculations for electrical and mechanical systems
