Program Overview

Through theEnvironmental, Health and SafetyRotational Development Program, you will rotate throughtwo key, Environmental, Health and Safety and Product Safety,over the course of12-weeks during the summer, all while developing the technical and business skills required to be successful in yourrole in either in the Environmental, Health and Safety or Product Safety disciplineIn the program, you will experience a blended learning environment which includes mentorship, job shadowing, and expanded networking opportunities with leaders and within our Employee Resource GroupsSilicon Valley


Position Details

During a series of rotations, participants will take on full-time responsibility of their functional role, which includes:

  • in the continuous improvement of EHS compliance programs (e.g.,Industrial Hygiene,Ergonomics, Hearing Conservation,OccupationalSafety, Radiation Safety and Respiratory Protection)

  • in inspection/auditing oflaboratory environmentto detectexisting andpotential hazards; recommends corrective or preventative measuresandcollaborateon

  • in across-functionteam to investigateincidentsto driveroot cause analyses and identification of correctiveaction(s)

  • Be an active member of thevolunteeremergency response

  • in a cross functional teamto performriskassessment toidentifypotential hazards and analyze what could happen ifthehazard occursand develop mitigation steps to prevent such an

  • Participates in compliance evaluation of productsper company and governmental requirements.

  • Performs product/system safety analysis on components, subsystems, and systems.

  • Prepares periodic and special reports in connection with engineering studies and projects and from liaison with other companies and outside organizations.

  • Manage 3rd party Product Safety tool assessments and drive corrective actions within the various internal organizations.

Requirements

  • Environmental,OccupationalHealth and Safetyor engineering

  • Must be in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0

  • Highly organized, self-motivatedindividual

  • Interacting with Suppliers on cost reduction opportunities
  • Supporting Supplier Account Managers in various tasks including meeting & presentation preparation, supplier management, quarterly business reviews, supplier capacity reviews
  • Perform Buyer functions, including: Creating, re-scheduling, and cancelling POs per MRP
  • Call suppliers to get material status and expedite material
  • Resolve Accounts Payable issues related to PO invoice and receipt discrepancies
  • Find alternate/emergency sources for material
  • Provide material delivery updates directly to factory stakeholders and leadership
  • Mitigate excess POs and inventory through supplier negotiations
  • Perform MRP and Spend Analytics looking for optimization of business practice

Requirements

  • Student must be pursuing a Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related major
  • Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
