Description:
During architectural stage you will work with world-class architects and IC designers on next-gen chipset’s Power/Digital/Clock management. During development, you will drive schematics/layout/bring-up of both development and form factor HW. You will debug HW/SW/Co-existence issue that are often seen only by the scale and volume of an Apple product. You will also have the full weight of the world’s leading contract manufacturer behind you in factory prototype support. This role also requires heavy cross-functional collaboration with other teams (Apple SoC, battery, sensors, iOS, etc) and therefore, you will also maintain a firm grasp of the entire product landscape outside of wireless design.
  • BS and a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Experience with schematic capture, layout design and review
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with mobile platform system design, system integration and/or high-volume consumer electronics design
  • Experience with voltage regulators, LDO, switch mode power supplies (SMPS)
  • Experience with high-speed and low-speed digital interfaces, e.g. PCIe, SPMI, I2C, UART, etc.
  • Bench-level design verification experience with high-speed oscilloscopes
  • Signal/Power integrity simulation experience with Matlab, PowerSI, SIwave, HFSS, etc.

Description:
As a Wireless Hardware Design Engineer, you will be responsible for crafting development boards and reference designs for testing and evaluating emerging wireless chip technologies!
Design Engineers work closely with internal chip and package design and chip integration teams to design, build and validate development boards required for chip bring-up and characterization. You will also work with external component vendors, PCB houses, and Apple factories to support wireless chips over their lifecycle, including application engineering support for product development teams.
  • BS and 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Developing test boards to collaborate with wireless chips, FPGAs, PMUs, sensors, and other peripheral support chips over a variety of digital interfaces, including I2C, JTAG, UART, SPI, SPMI, and PCIe based on preliminary chip specifications.
  • Designing of power distribution and filtering networks for wireless chips.
  • Hardware bring-up, bench evaluation, and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and wireless testers.
  • Understanding of PCB design principles for minimizing unwanted coupling and Rx de-sense.
  • PCB component selection and specification, including sockets for testing wireless chips.
  • Experience with schematic and board design using System Capture/Allegro or equivalent.
  • Understanding of DFM, DFT, SI, and PI principles for Wireless PCB design, including RF interface requirements of characteristic impedance and matching.
  • PCB construction requirements to meet SI and reliability requirements testing wireless chips.
  • Mechanical part design and modeling experience with Solidworks or NX preferred.
  • Leading vendors for PCB and mechanical part fabrication and assembly, and well as prototype part fabrication using 3-D printing.
  • Providing AE support for engineers integrating wireless chips into final products.
  • Experience with KiCad, Altium or Fusion 360 preferred.
  • Embedded programming and Python experience preferred.
  • Strong preference for working on electrical and/or mechanical projects in your spare time.

  • Lead confidential launch initiatives while working to maintain security and secrecy through the duration of the project. Handle disclosure lists and maintain strict security procedures on set and with our vendors.
  • Manage production budgets, and review production estimates to ensure projects are on track and within budget. Partner closely with managers to provide ongoing updates on the status of production to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Communicate with relevant groups throughout Apple to ensure they are kept up to date on the progress of our ads, have all necessary materials, and are aligned with our work, as well as the journey after people engage with our creative in media.
  • For MAL-originated campaigns, this role will manage the day-to-day relationship with their account team and help see creative through development from briefing to delivery. For Marcom-originated campaigns, you will partner with internal teams to develop creative from briefing to delivery.
  • 7 + years of production experience in an Advertising or Creative Agency and/or Brand
  • Has produced and launched digital/social advertising campaigns on global brands in international markets
  • Drives production workflows, creative shares and schedules across multiple teams, amongst internal / external cross-functional partners
  • Has built a social presence for a brand, with understanding of international social platforms
  • Experienced in influencer partnerships and social activations
  • Considers themselves a modern marketer with a deep understanding of performance marketing, making data-driven recommendations for ongoing improvements and optimizations
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to get results throughout projects
