Description:
As Game Engineer on the Tools & Technology team, you will develop and maintain the bespoke engine, requiring architectural design, implementation, debugging and optimization of systems, while working with artists and designers in areas such as animation, game play, rendering and/or tools. In this role you will:• Contribute to a proprietary game engine.• Implement systems to showcase the capabilities of Apple platforms.• Evaluate current and upcoming games.• Research and implement state of the art game systems.• Collaborate with art and design disciplines.• Collaborate with other Apple teams.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent job-related experience.
  • Experience in C or C++ programming languages.
  • Experience with 3D math, such as linear algebra or vector math.
  • Experience with game technologies such as animation, AI, physics, graphics and/or animation.
  • 10+ years of experience working as an engineer in the games industry.
  • Familiarity using CPU and GPU performance profiling tools.
  • Contributed to the development of two or more shipped games, PC or console.
  • Experience with custom game engine development.
  • Experience with game asset pipelines.
  • Passion for games.

The role involves the creation and maintenance of a high-performance C++ model of our next-generation GPUs. Core responsibilities include coding and debugging a performance and functional model of the GPU; implementing modern features such as ray tracing, mesh shading, machine learning, and more. Other responsibilities include working with the team to ensure model accuracy, feature validation and correlating against other models and RTL. You’ll utilize and develop diverse tools for analyzing the substantial amount of data generated by the models. You will collaborate with experienced architects, modeling engineers, compiler engineers, and software teams to assess the feasibility of new hardware and software features, running performance experiments, analyzing results, and proposing architectural changes.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Software skills and ability to write and debug C++ code

  • MS or PhD degree in related field

As an algorithm developer you will be responsible for crafting the creative look of videos captured with Apple cameras by developing capture side tone mapping algorithms. Define and develop feature proposals for different use cases targeting consumer and professional markets

As a CPU Performance Engineer with a focus on the memory subsystem, you will be part of a team that is defining and optimizing CPU and cache micro-architecture. Working collaboratively, you will seek out areas of the design for improvement by identifying performance bottlenecks and evaluate ideas to address them.. You will engage with experienced CPU and SoC designers in micro-architecture and RTL to assess the feasibility of ideas through modeling, refine ideas and model correlation, and seed new ideas. The role requires the analysis of specific single-threaded and multi-threaded workloads across existing and new product categories to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement. We collaborate as a larger CPU architecture and performance team to maintain and improve the simulation environment to enable data- driven decisions and always look for ways to boost the productivity of the entire team.
  • B.S. degree
