Complete analysis of the optical element's influence on the image quality characteristics of the camera module. Work closely with lens supplier for prototype design, evaluation and MTF testing. Drive the development of advanced metrology methods.
  • You will have extensive years experience in the area of lens design, metrology and integration.
  • Experience in lens design, tolerance analysis
  • You have done stray light analysis
  • You will know lens characterization methodology and instrumentation
  • Proficiency with ZEMAX, CODE V, FRED, LightTool, etc.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive optical and image quality characterization of the lens and the camera module
  • Support metrology methodology for camera lens testing and develop appropriate test charts and methods for camera evaluation
  • Interface with the assembly and packaging groups to support integration of camera lens into module
  • Graduate degree in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Manufacturing, or equivalent work experience
  • Working knowledge of thin film physics and fabrication. Track record of imaging-related innovations. Working knowledge of optomechanics multi-tasker, resourceful problem solver and takes initiative

The Camera Hardware team is responsible for all research, design, development, test, and qualification of camera hardware for Apple products. As a key member of the Camera Semiconductor Technologies, you will be responsible for working with suppliers to help design and bring up new sensing devices to enhance performance and yields. You will work with operations engineering on yield issues, as well as work with suppliers on process development to enable next generation sensing technologies.
As a Sensor Device Process Engineer, owning the semiconductor processes (and the specs for the processes) you will: Collaborate with global sensor suppliers to evaluate their manufacturing capability and to create an Apple specific roadmap. Work with design teams to assure that the process roadmap will meet our needs. - Work with suppliers on new product development, performance and yield improvement, reliability qualification, and fab qualification. Collaborate with the internal and external teams to implement new process technologies. Work with internal and external teams to assure that sufficient and correct testing is implemented at all stages to guarantee performance. Keep track of the process nodes and PDK’s used on all of our Sensors and maintain our Sensor process roadmap.Industry experience and a MSc/PhD in physics, electrical engineering, or a similar field.
