Description:
- Manage technical process interface with silicon vendors. - Work closely with suppliers on supplier silicon process issues and requirements.- Coordinate process transfers with IDMs and external foundry. - Participate in technology development, device engineering, and ongoing sustaining engineering activities within Hardware Technology. - Drive detailed investigation of root cause, and solutions to process/yield issues and its impact on high volume product production, performance and reliability. - Manage and mitigate technology risks for multiple projects in parallel. - Engage parties in decision making and drive to timely closure and thorough follow-through. - Build essential internal and external relationships across all levels (engineering to senior management) at suppliers and within Apple.- Use their interpersonal skills to engage at all levels of the supply chain from engineers to CEOs.
  • Experience in semiconductor process R&D and manufacturing.
  • Experience with process qualification and yield enhancement is desired.
  • Deep knowledge of CMOS Imaging process technology, integration and device physics and industry competitive landscape is required.
  • Experience with Deep Trench Etching systems, integration to imaging process flows and translation into extremely high volume manufacturing.
  • Good data analysis, problem solving, and very strong communication skills required.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience interfacing with these design technologies is desired.
  • Demonstrated prior experience and success solving highly complex technical problems.
  • People management skills and managerial experience is preferable.

Description:
The Camera Hardware team is responsible for all research, design, development, test, and qualification of camera hardware for Apple products. As a key member of the Camera Semiconductor Technologies, you will be responsible for working with suppliers to help design and bring up new sensing devices to enhance performance and yields. You will work with operations engineering on yield issues, as well as work with suppliers on process development to enable next generation sensing technologies.
As a Sensor Device Process Engineer, owning the semiconductor processes (and the specs for the processes) you will: Collaborate with global sensor suppliers to evaluate their manufacturing capability and to create an Apple specific roadmap. Work with design teams to assure that the process roadmap will meet our needs. - Work with suppliers on new product development, performance and yield improvement, reliability qualification, and fab qualification. Collaborate with the internal and external teams to implement new process technologies. Work with internal and external teams to assure that sufficient and correct testing is implemented at all stages to guarantee performance. Keep track of the process nodes and PDK’s used on all of our Sensors and maintain our Sensor process roadmap.Industry experience and a MSc/PhD in physics, electrical engineering, or a similar field.
  • Sensor process development experience
  • Hands-on experience with modern 300mm Silicon semiconductor process technology.
  • Strong device physics, excellent analytical and problem analysis
  • Experience developing sensor specifications and working with new sensor development
  • Deep knowledge of industry standards
  • Industry experience and a MSc/PhD in physics, electrical engineering, or a similar field.
  • Design and manufacturing experience in optoelectronic devices
  • Assembly process experience is a plus.
  • Ability to use contemporary and industry standard process monitoring tools to statistically evaluate the performance of a manufacturing cell or module
  • Ability to define simulations and work with physicists in realizing realistic simulations of new ideas
  • Ability to work closely with others in a very multi-functional team environment
  • Demonstrated success with several designs fabricated in modern groundbreaking foundries or captive fabs
