This individual is responsible for the data centers that power the Amazon platform, making sure that everything runs smoothly and that the data centers are always secure for internal and external purposes. You will be the one ensuring that these business critical environments are maintained and managed to the highest standards, so that the Amazon platform can serve customers quickly and in secure manner.
The Data Center Operations Manager role requires an individual that is both tech-savvy and detail-oriented. You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to coordinate the many technical requirements and challenges associated with the daily operations of these systems. Part of this role will include the design, implementation and management of an effective IT security program.
A strong back ground in engineering, IT or computer systems is an advantage in this role. You’ll need to have a knowledge of computing and networking principles, distributed operating systems, databases, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
You'll also have to oversee integrations, data system migrations, and automation of Amazon systems whenever possible. You will be responsible for ensuring all data centers are compliant with relevant safety and security regulations.
Working closely with other internal teams such as IT, Security, Network, and Business Intelligence, you'll play a key part in the development of effective strategies to ensure that the data center runs without interruption or delay.
