A day in the life
In this role, you will:
- Design and implement audio/video pipelines and board support packages for next-generation SoCs

You will become the primary resolver for your support team, and gain troubleshooting skills on one or more operating systems. You will be able to troubleshoot and solve all but the most complex infrastructure issues. Issues are escalated to the appropriate resolver groups when necessary. You create and maintain documentation on technologies you support and are able to convey Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) to junior staff. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to innovate and make decisions on his/her own, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved.You are able to execute small projects on your own and work with your manager in planning and executing larger local projects. You act as an escalation point for junior technicians. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support.Regular work schedule is Monday to Friday, with participation in an on-call rotation and requirement to provide shift coverage during emergencies. This may include responding to after-hours calls, working outside regular business hours, 12-hour shifts, or rotating shifts to ensure operational coverage during critical situations. Data Centres are 24/7 environments. All interested candidates must be willing to work rotating shifts (day/night) as well as weekends. Data Centre Technicians are also required to wear a pager for communication, information, emergency, and on-call situations.
3+ year of Computer Hardware experience
3+ years of Computer Networking experience

Associate’s degree or higher in IT-related field applicable certifications or/and equivalent professional or military experience. Networking experience with CCNA and/or Network+ certifications. Experience with CISCO, Juniper and other commodity networking devices
Previous experience working in a Data Centre environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management, hot & cold aisle containment)
All candidates must possess a valid driver's license, their own vehicle, and will need to pass a driving record check to operate company vehicles. Travel between sites/locations during the workday may occur.

Description detail
· Lead and coordinate design efforts between internal teams and outside vendors to develop optimal solutions for Amazon Logistical network, including equipment specifications and Fulfillment Centre (FC) layouts.
· Capital project management to include - Creation of conceptual drawings, equipment specifications and bid documentation to facilitate a competitive bid environment
· Provide frequent on-site monitoring and enforcement of installation schedules and vendor quality with MHE vendors/subcontractors.
· Inspect prospective and completed facilities in accordance with corporate standards and procedures, ensuring proper follow-up on snagging lists and warranty work
· Provide leadership and coordination between internal departments and MHE vendors for multiple installation sites.
· Develop and manage budget and contract documents including RFPs, change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing
· Coordinate with local site management to ensure proper operator training, procedural compliance, maintenance practices are followed for new and existing MHE equipment
· Creating, submitting and tracking the relevant Capex documentation to ensure that all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
· Work very closely with the UK Real Estate, IT and Process teams together with the software and Operations Integration teams to ensure on time project delivery.
· Understand the Operational process in detail, including the all the relevant WMS tools used on a daily basis.

- B.S. Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- Recognized experience on equipment design and layout of mechanical handling/conveyance/packaging systems.
- Proven technical leadership experience in development and implementation of large scale, complex projects.
- In-depth knowledge of standard industry practices including Lean Manufacturing
- Excellent working knowledge using MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, and related software

- Extensive experience performing security investigations, penetration testing, and/or incident response in the context of large organisations

This engineering operations technician position serves as the on-site maintenance technician and operator for an AWS data centre.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment
- Troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
- Perform limited maintenance tasks to include: filter changes, HVAC PMs, rack power installs, rack PDU, and rack ATS replacements
- Provide support to Data Centre Operations technicians
- Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
- Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work
- Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
