The Engineering Operations team are AWS’s front-line responders for hands-on troubleshooting and operations of critical infrastructure. As a Trainee, you will:
- Assist in maintaining and operating mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Support root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Help troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
- Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Use our internal CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to manage workflows.
- Work alongside third-party vendors and contractors onsite.
- You will work with equipment that supports mission-critical servers, including but not limited to: diesel generators, switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, air handling units, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems.Physical Requirements:
- Working at heights and from ladders.
- Regularly lifting/moving up to 22kg (49lbs) unassisted, and participating in group lifts for heavier loads.
- Using hands to handle and manipulate small tools, wires, and objects.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 3+ cumulative years of design experience with industrial or commercial engineering in Mission Critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation, oil / gas facilities. Pharmaceuticals, Semiconductors
- Experience with large scale industrial or commercial cooling distribution systems

- Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- An in-depth understanding of heat transfer and fluid dynamics and an ability to interpret the results of CFD analysis.
- Project Management Certified or Trained
- Experience in the design, installation, operation, or commissioning of the following equipment : chillers, cooling towers, CRAC units, chilled water loops, mechanical plant sequence of operations, centrifugal pumps, piping design, piping design installation methods, air handling units and duct sizing.

As a Data Centre Operational Security Specialist Intern, you will be tasked with driving operational security excellence within our Data Centres. You will write reports, create presentations and communicate with management on the status of physical security operations.Key job responsibilities
• Interface and direct vendors involved in new security construction, repairs, daily security operations and patrols, and planning.• Extract metrics and observe improvements by looking at hard data.• Make suggestions on improving electronic surveillance and access controls.• Direct efforts to educate data center occupants on false alarm reductions.

• In pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree within Criminology/Criminal Justice or other relevant field

• Knowledge of access control and video surveillance software applications (eg. LENEL or C-cure).
• Interest in investigating accidents, thefts, disturbances, and discrepancies.
• Desire to work in a facility observing security gaps in physical barriers, security officer procedure, policies, surveillance equipment, and alarm points.
• Ability to write detailed reports.
