As a Staff Network Infrastructure Software Engineer at Airbnb, you will drive strategy to number of systems and infrastructure projects within the tech industry. You will be hopping onto mission critical projects and creating innovative solutions that will help keep Airbnb running smooth, secure, and efficient. In this role you will be working with a wide range of teams and disciplines, ensuring the timely delivery of secure and reliable solutions. You will collaborate with stakeholders to establish an effective change and release management process to maintain operations. From gathering requirements, writing technical evaluations, and building prototypes to ensure services, procedures, and infrastructure is running smoothly. Your responsibilities will also include researching emerging trends, products, and technologies for appropriate application within the Airbnb network engineering team. You will implementation network equipment with a focus on stability and performance, delivering reliable, performant services for everyone at Airbnb. Furthermore, you will be expected to assist in the maintenance of operational dashboards, analyses, metric collection, and capacity planning, and working with partners to assess risk and ensure SLAs. With its fast-paced and high impact role, the ideal candidate will have a minimum 5 years of experience in general software engineering and experience of Linux and Windows, with scripting languages such as Python and Bash. Moreover, working knowledge of network fundamentals (routing protocols, ACLs, etc…) and expert-level knowledge in core internet protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, DHCP, VPN, etc..) and abilities to troubleshoot systems engineering challenges.
