Risk Management’s Compliance & Ethics team is searching for a Supervising Associate with a focus on regulatory compliance. As an integral member of the team, this individual will assist with policies, processes and procedures established to support the Firm’s compliance with laws and regulations including those related to professional regulatory requirements (from CPA bodies, local and foreign audit regulators), financial crime and internal EY policy compliance. This individual will also promote and demonstrate commitment to risk management processes and policies within the Firm.
Your key responsibilities
- Support and promote compliance with various Canadian laws and regulations and EY policies and processes, including responding to queries from EY personnel, clients and regulators.
- Assist with tracking applicable requirements, implementing and updating policies and related processes and tools, and performing risk assessments, reviews, and testing.
- Consistently provide high quality risk-appropriate solutions, guidance and advice to EY professionals and stakeholders.
- Help measure and monitor the effectiveness of tools and processes, conduct regular monitoring and reporting, solicit feedback from stakeholders and recommend improvements.
- Provide support to the Compliance & Ethics Leader and the broader compliance team.
- Collaborate with EY Global/Area functions, other EY member firms, and local stakeholders such as GCO and Professional Practice to implement policies, processes and tools within Canada.
- Assist with and support other special projects on an as needed basis.
- Assist in developing and delivering training to new hires and professional personnel, as required, and awareness campaigns on a regular basis.
- Foster a culture of compliance throughout the firm, promoting ethical behaviour and accountability
Skills and attributes for success
- University or college degree
- Minimum two years’ experience in a risk management, compliance or legal function in a multi-disciplinary professional services firm
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills with high attention to detail
- Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and client service
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) coupled with the ability to deal with confidential information discreetly and to handle difficult and demanding situations
- Familiarity with risk management and compliance principles and the ability to understand policies and provide guidance on related matters.
- Familiarity with the services provided by a multidisciplinary professional services firm
- Ability to work in a busy, deadline driven environment focused on accuracy and confidentiality
- Ability to effectively solve problems using sound judgment
- Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape
- Strong knowledge of Excel and project management experience an asset but not required
What we offer you
The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $75,600 to $113,400. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and work location city.
