In this Sales role, you will be expected to meet or exceed clearly defined territory sales objectives.
As an Account Sales Representative in 3M's Personal Safety Division, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Proactively plans and manages time and resources for effective coverage of territory.
- Demonstrates and trains internal and external customers on product applications. Provides appropriate sales support services to customers and distributors
- Exhibits leadership with accounts, prospects and peers
- Accepts direction and assumes leadership as appropriate
- Builds collaboration among team members to help drive growth at relevant customer's and industries
- Position may occasionally be involved with training and mentoring other sales representatives, usually as a co-facilitating role.
This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position (if applicable)
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- Three (3) years of Safety, PPE sales experience and/or Industrial Hygiene experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Current, valid Driver’s License.
Additional qualifications needed in order to help you succeed further in this role include:
- Direct Safety Sales or IH experience specifically in Heavy Metal Manufacuring, Energy, Oil & Gas, Refining, Food & Bev, Pharma manufacturing and Healthcare
- Experience working with local, regional and National Safety and Industrial Distributors
- Safety Sales experience in Nuclear, Mining, Energy, Food & Bev, Healthcare, Military, Pharma accts
- Safety certifications – IH, CIH preferred, QSSP or other applicable credentials
- Experience with local/regional Safety/Industrial Distribution
- Experience in selling and training on safety equipment with end users
- Safety certifications - MSHA, QSSP, IH or other applicable credentials
- Experience with account and office/territory management tools, i.e. Salesforce.com, Microsoft Office, and/or other web-based applications
