The job duties of the Change & Configuration Technical Analyst are as follows:
- Develop technical policies for documenting and changing baseline project configuration items and maintenance action processes.
- Providing input and resolution to technical issue logs in support of Change Control Board and Configuration Management objectives.
- Detect and drive the resolution of deficiencies in post-change implementation review.
- Perform complex technical review and root-cause analysis of failed maintenance actions, providing logical remediation recommendations/actions.
- Interface with and coordinate work taskings through customer managed ticket system.
- Perform evaluation of O&M activities to include Tier 3 troubleshooting in direct support of Problem and Configuration Management technical findings.
- Utilize complex network analysis tools to identify and correct problems in the network while maintaining logs and records associated with reported problems or situations.
- Coordinate with and provide technical counsel to configuration management and implementation teams.
- Implement standard network change requests in remediation to Change and Configuration Management findings.
- Develop and recommend technical solutions for recurring network problems, perform trend analysis on such problems; providing these findings to a Problem Management team.
- Provide technical review for the installation of new equipment being evaluated by the Configuration Control Board.
- Monitor the performance of compliance and auditing of network management systems to include troubleshooting device and network issues.
Required Qualifications:Candidate must have 10 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 3 years, master’s and 4 years, bachelor’s and 6 years, associates and 8 years orHS diplomaand 10 years.Must comply withDoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
Additional required qualifications include:
- Layer 2 and Layer 3 network experience.
- Knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model.
- Working knowledge of Layer 2 switching concepts.
- Working knowledge of basic routing fundamentals and the ability to map out a network given device access.
- Working knowledge of Layer 3 protocols such as Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), and Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP).
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) products.
- Demonstrated experience working with network mapping and diagraming tools such as Network Automation, Riverbed, and MS Visio.
Knowledge of fundamental Configuration Management and/or Change Management processes.
