About the Role:
As a subject matter expert on our medical device products, you will educate current and potential customers on their use within the Ontario and Atlantic Canada regions. You will provide regular clinical education, sales strategy support, feedback, and clinical case support (including software utilization) to assist physicians and interventional staff in achieving the best possible outcomes with Boston Scientific Interventional Oncology solutions. You may also be responsible for the day-to-day field execution and management of Boston Scientific clinical trials at selected clinical trial centers where applicable.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Commercial Support: Under general direction, serve as the primary resource for clinical support, addressing a wide range of issues related to troubleshooting, capital unit use and programming, and effective use of Boston Scientific Interventional Oncology products.
- Customer Education : Educate customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products by giving presentations and demonstrations using appropriate formats and platforms (e.g., slides, manuals) to keep all customers informed of the latest product, therapy, and technology developments and current items of interest in the industry.
- Team Collaboration: Work within a team of clinical specialists, territory sales representatives, and market development managers to achieve broader strategic goals.
- Research and Observation: Perform clinical and library research and participate in case reviews and clinical observation by working with physicians and hospital lab staff.
- Clinical Case Attendance: Attend clinical cases in hospital accounts and perform follow-up to ensure customer success with the implanted products.
- Client Meetings: Meet with existing and potential clients to identify their clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care, and discuss and demonstrate how company products can help them achieve their goals.
- Business Relationship Development: Develop business relationships with hospital personnel (e.g., through casual conversation, meetings, participation in conferences) to make new contacts in other departments within the hospital and identify key decision makers to facilitate future sales.
- Customer Needs Response: Respond to complex customer needs and complaints regarding products and services by developing creative and feasible solutions or working with other related personnel (e.g., sales, clinical, research, marketing, technical support) to develop optimal solutions.
- Training and Support: Provide initial and continuous training, education, and support for clinical center personnel on clinical trial protocol, clinical processes, products and features under investigation, and procedures involving those products and features.
Required Qualifications:
- Licensed Medical Radiation Technologist
- Minimum of 5 years working in a large community or academic hospital within the interventional radiology and/or CT departments
- Ability to travel daily to hospitals across Ontario and Atlantic Canada, with regular overnight stays in other cities. Some evenings and occasional weekend work required.
- Strong oral communication, presentation, and writing skills, effective in both 1:1 situations and with larger audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Radiation Sciences or Health Sciences
- Experience with thermal ablation technologies, including cryoablation
- Experience with TheraSphere Y-90
- Significant experience with Cone Beam CT image capture, interpretation, and use
- Knowledge in Nuclear Medicine studies
- Strong ability to use imaging software
- Strong knowledge of image capture software use for CT, CBCT, MRI, and Angiography
- Ability to speak French
- Experience working within a medical device company
Compensation forhourly, non-sales rolesmay also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
