This is a visible role with the ability to impact change across the company and drive meaningful solutions by shaping how technical learning is built and delivered at Capital One. To do this you will…

  • Partner with the Design Learning Accountable Executive and key Product stakeholders to co-create the annual strategic learning agenda to align on the vision, OKRs, operating model, and governance model while ensuring execution against strategy and integration across design and learning workstreams.

  • Partner with Product College to shape the learning strategy for the Human Centered competency track for Product Managers.

  • Bring a product development mindset to your work where you focus on working backwards from problem statements, rapid testing and iterations to develop solutions that learners love.

  • Collaborate with partners in Product College and Tech College on best practice sharing, peer learning, resource and prioritization needs to effectively deliver on the broader learning strategy.

  • Lead design and delivery of peer learning programs and iterate based on leader and learner feedback and impact data.

  • Project manage multiple initiatives within the team; leading program teams and also providing support at various capacity levels

  • Ensure scope of deliverables, timelines and budget are met, identify risks and issues and mitigate and / or escalate as needed

  • Own the measurement and evaluation strategy to ensure learning solutions are meeting the needs of learners

  • Collaborate on learner communications and external storytelling, sharing Tech College insights and outcomes.

Here is what you need to be successful:

  • Experience educating, onboarding, or supporting more technical roles such as product, tech, design or other technical talent

  • Familiarity with the product development lifecycle either through product, design, engineering, or enablement roles

  • High level of initiative, ownership, and a customer-centric mindset

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to influence at all levels

  • Ability to manage ambiguity, lead through change, and deliver in a matrixed environment

  • Ensure scope of deliverables, timelines and budget are met, identify risks and issues and mitigate and / or escalate as needed

  • Exceptional influence, written, and verbal communication skills to define and socialize our L&D strategy, where learning is a lever to optimally support the enterprise

  • Partner with key stakeholders to identify and prioritize points of leverage for business impact and scope for new initiatives

  • Partner with other Learning & Development professionals across the Enterprise to gain efficiencies, share best practices, and optimize how we interact

  • Leverage expertise in adult learning to inform the learning strategy and products

  • Comfort facilitating and leading training/workshops effectively, engaging associates at all levels

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree

  • At least 3 years of experience in client facing consulting in a tech organization

  • At least 2 years of experience in learning and development

  • At least 1 year of experience in project management

  • At least 1 year of experience in learning strategy creation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience building/working with Product, Tech or Design organizations

  • Familiarity with change management

  • At least 3 years of experience in strategy creation

  • Experience facilitating across a variety of modalities including in person and virtual programs

McLean, VA: $126,700 - $144,600 for Learning Manager Richmond, VA: $115,200 - $131,500 for Learning ManagerThis role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
